Academy of Music, Music Lesson Studio

We have been with the Georgetown Academy of Music for 1.5 yrs and it has been a great experience for our daughter. She plays the ukulele. Her music teacher, Anthony has been wonderful! We also really enjoy the recitals!

Our 7 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Mrs. Laurie for the past 6 months. I was very pleased to find that Academy of Music's teaching environment and instructor were appropriate for our daughter's age. As a parent with previous musical experience I found Mrs. Laurie's instructions engaging for my daughter with the right balance of theory and musical instruction. Mrs. Laurie has a positive attitude and extensive experience which allows her to adjust the lesson to suit the student's interests. Our daughter very much enjoys the lessons and we would both recommend Academy of Music.

My 6 year old daughter started ukulele lessons this fall with the Academy of Music (Georgetown) and we couldn't be happier! Within only a few months she has learned so much. She is reading music, playing familiar songs and even writing her own music. This is thanks to her teacher, Dan. He is very patient and encouraging. Just this week my daughter announced I just can't believe it....I'm a musician!" Her confidence has soared not just with her playing but in many other areas as well. I am so glad and that I joined music of academy, Georgetown location .I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to get a good understanding of music ,to join academy of music , cause of the experience I had with my amazing guitar teacher, Mike .Mike is such a devoted , hard working , motivating , encouraging teacher and especially his patience towards his students is worth appreciating.Mike helped me learn guitar from the basic skills to understanding of guitar at a level where I feel so confident to play it .He made guitar learning so much fun and his techniques to teach were highly motivating .I feel so blessed to be his student

My daughter started piano lessons with Heather as her teacher and she is AWESOME! The staff here is great! The transition from in person to online lessons was seamless. We highly recommend this location for music lessons.

My son and daughter are taking piano lessons at the Academy.I am very pleased with how they have progressed to date. Both teachers have done an excellent job at teaching the kids the theory and practical side of music but most importantly have made it fun for them to learn.The kids enjoy and look forward to their lessons.

My son started taking piano lessons at the Academy of Music when he was 4, and the experience has been nothing short of fantastic. His teacher is very upbeat and in tune with his needs as a young guy learning to play. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and I'm a huge fan of their musical ladder system. Overall great experience!

My daughter starts the piano lessons just before of her 4 years birthday on February 2017. She asked me to learn how to play piano. We researched a lot in the Georgetown area, and we found this school was the most appropriate. Teachers are very good with small kids, besides they allow parents to be in the room meanwhile the kid is attending the lessons.My daughter is enjoying so much and she practices almost every day at home, she tells me this is how the teacher told me how to do it".I am looking forward for my little son to reach his 4 years old birthday start his the piano lessons on this school. He is already in the path seeing his big sister telling him what she learned in the Academy of Music school."

Great experience! My kids love learning both piano and guitar through the Academy of Music. The teachers are fantastic-very supportive and flexible. The environment is friendly and welcoming and definitely fosters learning. I am so happy to see their successful progression and to have them be part of the music community.

My daughter is really enjoying violin lessons with her new teacher. She is more committed to learning to violin now and I think this is as a result of the high professionalism and care that the academy has for all its students. I think the academy provides excellent music lessons, and their flexibility to adapt during the pandemic was amazing. I would definitely recommend the academy to my friends and family!
