The food was pretty good but the posted online menu prices are way out of date.

It used to be great, they used to have amazing soups and a more upper scale choice of food. Kinda disappointing. My husband had the halibut burger and said it was good. Not many low carb options. Just a ceasar salad, I asked for a shrimp skewer and was charged $8 for 5 quarter sized shrimp. With all of the amazing food options in Fernie, I will not be returning unless I'm golfing and hungry.Edit to the owner response...We actually had our wedding dinner at this establishment and wanted to recreate the moment. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I would no longer recommend this place for such an occasion. This time the food was okay, the service was okay and this was during Covid... It wasn't that busy?? Thanks for the owner to respond that I need to review the menu prior to ordering! I can read, and $8.00 for a tiny skewer of shrimp was not what was advertised. I am most upset at the response that was received. I will not be returning to this establishment even if I decide to golf here...

We have been travelling/sight seeing from Revelstoke to Fernie the last 4 days. For the most part the meals have been meh! Then we found Cast Iron Grill. We started with the beef barley soup. I pride myself on my soup making. This is the best soup I have ever had. I would have been happy with a mini baguette fresh from the oven and a big bowl of soup. But. We wanted to try it all.I am still stuffed from supper so cannot think to write too much but I will say it is the best meal I have had out in years. The waiter, who also had a great personality, and a patron, also recommends we try the Brickhouse in town. This will have to wait for our next trip through but is on the agenda.

The Cast Iron Grill offers simple well made food, in a time when most restaurants in Fernie are trying to have trendy menu items. This place has chosen to focus on classic food done right. Our steak sandwiches where tender, perfectly cooked seasoned well, all the food was hot. If you are lucky enough to be here on a night they are offering prime rib, just order it, you can't go wrong. The dining room is an average golf course club house, again they are not pretending to be something they are not. Where this location is different is the views. It is set on a 100 year old golf course with majestic mountain views. It's like you are dining in your own private mountain valley, without the obstruction of the city or over development. We were here for lunch, and I did hear other customers raving about the breakfast they had the day before, I can't wait to try the breakfast.

The food was amazing for our Wedding in September. We chose the option to mix and match our menu and all the food was delicious. The prime rib and the cedar planked salmon were so good as well as the mushroom risotto. It was also great to have a midnight lunch" for our guests and we definitely suggest the taco bar. Penny also made us a lovely Wedding Cake- it was one of the best chocolate cakes with buttermilk icing I have had :). Thank you again Penny and your team!"

Ordered 'Cast Iron Short Ribs' (beef) got the (pork) St Louis Ribs which were about 30% inedible due to fat and over cooked jerky. 1 extremely light layer of sauce that only covered about 75% of one side - THE WRONG SIDE...Made it back to my hotel just in time to hit the toilet... ViolentCaesar salad and veggies were great!Service was fast and the server was very attentive (aside from ordering us the wrong dish).Very spacious atmosphere with a nice relaxing view and ambience.*Edited response to owner*To be clear, I wasn't violently ill" but did get explosive diarrhea 15 minutes after the meal and then I was fine. Sorry I'm just not the type of guy to force all the staff to remake me a dish and wait another 1/2 hour.To say that "all your staff" tried the exact dish I had and are fine less than 45 minutes after I posted my review is highly suspect to say the least. The dish being "in demand" as it sounds great in words on a menu shouldn't deter from the fact that mine

The Iron Philly sandwich is probably the best thing served between bread in Fernie. The patio is scenic and the only one in town that is away from road noise. It's a great place to grab a beer whether you're golfing or not. Their home made soups are always excellent too. Keep up the good work.

Went golfing with the boy and a couple of his buddies today, afterwards my son and I stopped in for a beer..or 2 and a bite to eat. He had chicken fingers, Man were they good! They had that light crispy batter that you always see on ads for restaurants down in the southern US and the chicken was still really moist and tender. I had a big crunch wrap and fries thinking it would be a little thing to get by to dinner, nope it was a beast and mama was it good. The fries were absolutely spot on.Now, the service;we have been here many times in the past with lackluster service. But the last 2 times here David was the server and he has it nailed, very efficient and pleasant to talk to. I gotta tell ya this man can make a Ceasar, it was perfect. He has talent! Well done!

I am a huge prime rib lover. This is the only place in town that offers prime rib and they do it to perfection. It is a call ahead procedure, to make a reservation as well as to state that you want the prime rib and how you like it cooked. We wanted it rare, so set the reservation for 5:30.This beat my last two experiences at the keg by a long shot.

Exceptional, consistent service and food quality, large portions, and for a golf course restaurant, relatively inexpensive for what you get. Great bang for buck and a very under-rated dining experience. Takeout during COVID on mother's Day - 30 mins. Comparatively other Fernie dining hotspots wouldn't answer the phone or had hours long wait times. Cast Iron Grill absolutely deserves high recognition as one of Fernie's best restaurants - and I only had takeout.
