Pearl House Cafe
This shop has been around for a very long time. I remember hanging out at Dragon City Mall all time, sipping one of their drinks while chatting rather loudly as excited teens sometimes are. Behind the one-way elevator, this place is a bit hard to see, not helped by the fact that it’s tucked inside a slight curve. But once you find this place, you won’t ever forget that this shop exists, as you will find some the best fresh taro drinks in the city. Taro is a classic bubble tea flavour, but many have only every known the powdered version. Powdered taro will give you flavoured punch many know and love, but there’s a different joy in the texture of fresh, cooked taro: custard-y smoothness that’s just a little bit dense. The flavour is subtle compared to the powdered form, but just as satisfying in its own way. Topped with red beans, the nutty flavours combined with taro is a borderline decadent treat that’s a nice between meal snack and not too sweet.

Pearl House Cafe
It is my favorite place for my bubble tea cravings ever since. I always go for blueberry and strawberry with pearls. They use half real fruits and half juice concentrate that gives enough sugar and the satisfaction of gulping it all down in a few sips. If I crave for coffee I go for the iced espresso with milk and pearls. One of the reasons why i love this place is that their tapioca pearls are consistent in soft texture, chewiness all throughout, and adequate sweetness. I highly recommend for any bubble tea fans and they have a lot of flavors to choose from of course.

Not an ig fancy place but hits the mark on flavour/quality and cost! This is another hidden gem. The service is straight forward and easy to order. There are many options to choose here. Prices range from $4.25-6.25 in a large cup format. Probably one of the best mango pomelo drinks in the city and a very uncommon find as well. You can't adjust sweetness but with the one drink - it's just right. Good amount of content and not iced down. Not necessarily a basic milk tea spot but more for those unique flavours, mixtures or fruity ones.

Pearl House Cafe
I use to come here religiously before all the other bubble-tea places opened up around the area. They use to really make great fresh fruit drinks unfortunately when I decided to try again it just wasn't the same. Wanted to support local and small businesses, even with my extra $5 tip on top of my $5 drink, the lady was not thankful. Probably will never return.

Pearl House Cafe
Fresh taro with coconut milk is a must try here. They also offer a lot of other unique drinks. Probably one of the most reasonably priced bubble tea shops here in Calgary. All drink items include topping at no extra cost. Owners are nice and friendly. They also have snacks like curry fish balls.

Pearl House Cafe is awesome. The owners are really sweet and they often remember your orders. The drinks are made with such care and they use fresh fruit which makes the biggest difference. If you come often, make sure you get a stamp card!

Edit: closed after 15+ years!I have been going to this bubble tea shop for over 6 years! They get to know you and offer suggestions. Food is good too. Always fresh and great value. Definitely recommend the fresh Taro and House Special (not on the menu)!!
