Happy Corner Parent Participation Preschool

I'd suggest parents take some time to book an observation about Happy Corner to see what it is about after reading these reviews! You can get a much better idea of what is involved that what I can describe:Happy Corner is not only a place for preschoolers, but it's a place for their families as well. Moms, dads and caregivers are involved in the school and with the teachers everyone forms this amazing community. I'm so glad I had the chance to participate in the classroom and watch my child in a school setting. Being with my child at Happy Corner has helped me see my child develop emotionally, socially, physically and cognitively.The Parent Involvement part includes coming in once a month to help the teachers in the classroom, attend the 4/5 meetings each year that includes a parent education seminar, and take on a family job that fits my schedule and interests. The Parent Educational seminars have made me a better parent, each time I learn more about my child and our family system.The teachers at Happy Corner are amazing, I truly believe the regular communication they have with parents in forming this community makes Happy Corner such a magical, wonderful place for my child.

Lovely little play based preschool. Wonderful teachers and community feel. A truly special place that stands out among other preschools. I will recommend to anyone looking for a preschool :)

My son absolutely loved Happy Corner and so did I. A few reasons: the teachers are wonderful, I learned a lot from the teachers on my parent helper days, the sense of community among the parents and I signed up to be on the exec team instead of doing other parent jobs which was a great experience. Key words: attachment based, play based, magical and fun!

Happy corner preschool is truly a magical place and community for children and their families. My son started there last year after a year of being isolated at home during Covid and they were so warm and welcoming. At the beginning he experienced some separation anxiety at drop off -as most kids do that age - but right away the teachers got to know his needs and his personality and would greet him with warm individualized care every morning. Their attention to detail made it so easy to leave him in someone else’s care. Both of the teachers are outstanding with children; they are calm, patient, intuitive, understanding, and creative. They get to know and cater to each child’s unique needs. The kids days are filled with play and opportunities to explore a variety of new crafts/toys/materials each day. My whole experience there has been so wonderful, I couldn’t of picked a better place for my son.

Happy Corner is more than just a preschool. It is a place where kids can feel a sense of community and involvement while learning through play the skills that will get them ready for full time school. The teachers really care about the kids and do a lot of detailed planning to make each class special. Don’t be scared off by “parent involvement”. Not everyone can volunteer In the same way and the teachers and board members know that and work with you to help you find a way to be involved that works. At least they did that for me. Located right in the heart of Falaise Park with a great playground for kids to play before or after class, Happy Corner has been a staple of the community for generations. I signed up my son for happy corner on the recommendation of a friend and neighbour. She went to Happy Corner as a child and her kids went to Happy Corner. I don’t regret the decision!

Happy Corner Preschool created many beautiful memories to my kid. Teachers here are full of love!

We absolutely loved sending our little guy to preschool for two years here. It's a wonderful environment with loving teachers and a great program. My son enjoyed every minute and we appreciated being more involved in some of the events and classroom activities than we were in the previous preschool that we sent our older kids too. The montessori preschool our older two kids went to was great in it's own way, but I don't think our youngest child missed out on any learning or development by going to play based preschool like Happy Corner. In fact, I think it was so magical there that he probably had the best preschool experience of them all.

Sometimes in life you just stumble across an absolute gem. Stars were in our favour and couldn’t have been happier when placing our daughter here. The teachers developed such an amazing bond with our daughter and even to this day, two years later, she still talks about her happy experiences here. Despite COVID! Lovely sense of community, supportive and reassuring. Amazing play based education! Thank you happy corner. We’re grateful for the times we had but sad that our second daughter didn’t get to experience your wonderful school after we moved.

Wonderful attachment emotional/social learning play based preschool. Strong focus on community building and a lovely neighbourhood school. All 3 of my kids have attended Happy Corner and it was such a great gentle introduction to preschool. Loving experienced teachers and great holistic philosophy. Really appreciated the Parent Ed nights (with speakers such as Deborah Mcnamara, Bridgett Millar etc..)

I’ve had 2 kids in this school and it’s one of the best preschools in the city. Initially, I was a little unsure about the commitment needed since it’s a parent involvement school, however it ended up being reasonable and very rewarding.This school is especially great if your kid needs more support during gradual entry as some kids need more than a week to feel comfortable and confident to be on their own. My oldest kid still talks about her time at happy corner. I highly recommend this school
