McLeod Windows and Doors

Purchased 12 windows and 1 custom door (with built in blinds) and had installed in February 2023 as part of Canada Greener Homes Grant.I spent three months researching different companies and products that could deliver a quality product and meet or exceed the Canada Greener Homes energy efficiency requirements. After considerable research, references checks, visits to previous install sites and comparing lots of data and information I landed on going with McLeod Windows (Kohltech Windows and Entrance Systems). I have waited 5 months before submitting my review to ensure I could witness the product in service after a reasonable period of use.I can report I am extremely delighted with having chosen to work with McLeod windows for the purchase and installation of the Kohltech windows. The product has a number of unique features to other products, meets and/or surpasses most other window warranties, provides a wide and varied product line and delivers above average energy efficiency and window functionalities. I honestly can not say enough good things about Matt Ryan the salesperson who worked with us. He was always prompt and helpful with my many questions and was invaluable in guiding us through the window options selection and installation process.The installation (in February 2023) went extremely well and Ted the installation coordinator was tremendous. Very knowledgeable, hard working team that did a quality installation. Ted always made himself available for any questions and would not leave the work site until my full satisfaction was guaranteed. He displayed a high level of expertise, a strong work ethic and customer service commitment one doesn't see so often today.In summary, if you are looking for new windows/doors and have not included McLeod Windows in your quotes - you have not done your research.

Full story (TLDR, scroll to end):We spent $42000 on windows and doors at McCleod. They have mostly lived up to the standard. The issues we have had, they have dealt with effectively under warranty.My dad blew a rock through one of the door windows and we needed a replacement. It was cheap enough ($450) but installer was booked into October (2 months away) which meant picking up the replacement and finding another installer.When I arrived to pick up, there was nobody to be seen in the warehouse. So, I rolled into the showroom, looking for paperwork and help. The pleasant lady at the front door said I just needed my order number. When I got back to the warehouse, the fella was on a zoom call. He flashes me the 2 min sign.2 minutes I can handle. When we drag into 10 minutes, I'd suggest there is a customer service issue. If the call is THAT important that you can't take the (literal) 60 seconds to deal with me, maybe there should be effective coverage to cover an event exactly like the one I'm describing.I arrived back in the showroom to pursue other avenues of pick-up. While the nice lady went in search of someone, said warehouse manager arrived to std. (Save the day).Is it possible I'm a little uptight about time? Absolutely. However a 45 minute drive (each direction) and the lack of timely installation staff left me with no choice but to pick the thing up and I believe that an in-person" customer probably should take priority.Not here. We had McLeod in our home for a quote on windows and doors two weeks ago. The Salesman was great! Very knowledgeable and kind. Followed covid protocol. That being said, we have yet to receive our quote. We have called the salesman directly two times and left messages without any response. Needless to say, we will not be going with McLeod. If this is how we are treated before we spend money, I would hate to find out how we are treated when we need warranty work done. I would not recommend this company. Edit: Sales manager and sales person has since contacted me directly to follow up on review.

Kohltech acquired Equibuilt windows a few years ago and they still honoured a warranty replacement for glazing purchased from Equibuilt. When I spoke to Kohltech about 5 windows that were fogging up" they suggested contacting McLeod Windows and Doors who coordinated ordering the glass under warranty and then arranged for the installation. I recently had McLeod Windows and doors upgrade my windows. I found the service excellent. Matt provided very good information, provided options for me and took the time to answer my questions. The installers were excellent, providing draping to protect my floors, furniture etc. They also cleaned up after themselves taking all garbage etc. They were very pleasant and respectful. I would highly recommend this company to friends and family and I will use them again in future.

I had McLeod Windows install 39 new sealed units of glass in June of 2022.They were very helpful & friendly through this process & did the install within 2 days. Ted & Cole were professional & did a great job!Thank you so much!

Exceptional Customer service, fair pricing and will work with you to make sure you are happy! That’s what they did for me. I have nothing bad to say as they were on time for every appointment, answering every phone call if I had questions and I also had the manager call me to check in on how my windows are. I highly recommend buying Windows and or Doors from this amazing business!

Are you considering getting new windows from McLeod Windows and Doors? Here is how is went down for us. We had a top notch experience with McLeod Windows and Doors right from the beginning. Meeting with Matt Ryan (Sales rep, great knowledge of product, sunny personality) made it easy for us to come to decisions regarding style and functionality of the eight main floor windows that we replaced. Matt S. and Johnathan (installation crew, hard-working, good at puzzles presented by installing new windows in very old house) were respectful of our space and of each other, and maintained a good vibe while at work - professional and friendly. Honestly we got way more than we bargained for. To begin with the house was better sealed and ergo less drafty (lower heating bills). As well the house warmed with passive solar heating from the increased amount of sunshine and warmth now pouring into/and staying in our rooms through the beautiful new glass (even lower heating bills!). Now we can access our windows, open and close them easily and safely (the grandbabies loved opening them even in the midst of February). And I can easily clean them inside and out - we will have our beautiful view of the Alberta sunset clearly all year round. What a wonderful job McLeod Windows and Doors and their amazing installation crew did for us and our life in our old house. Saved us money on bills, gave us increased access to natural sunlight and - I almost totally forgot to mention the curb appeal it has added to our home. Very poor quality products, and understandably they do not stand behind their poor products. We bought all new triple pane windows 6 years ago for our new home, so far we’ve had to replace 5 due to moisture staining on the Center pane (2 last year and 3 this year). They will replace the sealed units but we have to pay to package them, drive to the city to pick them up, and install them ourselves. At this rate I’m just cringing at the cost and time to slowly replace all our new windows. I highly recommend buying from somewhere else.

Our experience with McLeod windows and doors was amazing. From the very beginning, every single employee was professional and totally competent, which I find is a rarity in this day and age. Matt was so helpful with the estimate and getting the order in for our 4 replacement doors (including many back and forth emails that he always promptly replied to), Ted was fantastic with his final-measure visit, and Taras was a very skilled installer who did a beautiful job. We even had to make a warranty claim on 2 doors that had very minor defects, and they were replaced quickly and without any hassle at all. Throughout the whole process I was so pleasantly surprised at how smoothly it all went. We have hired many different companies over the years to do various reno projects to our 1950s home, and this has been by far the best experience we've ever had. Thank you McLeod for going above and beyond. I am happy that there are still companies out there that care so much about the customer experience.
