Dickinson Marine

Decided to spend a bit of money and buy a nice BBQ for my boat. From the first time I used it it was burning with an orange flame and made my food black with soot. After about 5 uses it was only burning on one end with a big orange flame. Also had troubles with it burning too hot. Asked to have it replaced. Reply from Customer Service was they sent me links on how to clean it and fix the temperature and said they would not replace it.Update: The customer representative did become more helpful after the initial email response and after some discussion offered to meet me and fixed my BBQ for me. The burner had separate so they replaced it and adjusted the flame so it works now. They also gave me a cover for the troubles so I am happy now and upgrading my review. Thanks

I purchased a Dickinson Mediterranean based on their reputation. While the stove has worked fine for a couple of years the electronic components are starting to not work. The manual is pretty limited on troubleshooting so a call to support was made. What a waste of time. They only work on a scheduled call back and no one is available until tomorrow. This is unacceptable to me. No other company I’ve dealt with such as Garmin, Raymarine, etc has worked like this. My only assumption is Dickinson products have a high number of issues and they are not staffed to support them. Due lack of customer service I do not recommend Dickinson products. Reading through other reviews, this appears to be a recurring issue.So it appears Dickinson can respond to reviews but I can only update the original review. Yes they did offer to schedule a call for the next day. As I stated, if they have that many calls either improve the products or hire more support. As for the call, the first person I spoke to offered to schedule a call for tomorrow, when I pushed back she handed me off. After a brief hold another lady comes on the phone with no idea why I’m calling. I go through the whole story again and get the “we can schedule something for you tomorrow…”. I ask for her manager and I’m abruptly told she is the manager and the “owner doesn’t speak with customers”. Now; I’m a previous and disgruntled customer. A little CS goes a long way.

The receptionist was very nice. I called two days before just to ask if they had what I was looking for. I said I'd come get it the next day but it was two days before I got there and she had it waiting. Great company, great products.

The solid fuel stove has kept me warm in the winter for years, and kept the boat dry. If you burn good dry fuel there’s a bit of smoke at the start, but quickly it goes away and you can just see heat coming off the chimney. This is great because you don’t smoke out nearby boats. Looking forward to getting a newer model with the glass window on the door, it will cast some nice light. Good stove overall, happy to get another one for my boat.

Excellent products. We have an original 1987 Antarctic diesel heater on our boat and it has had zero issues in its life. We installed a Mediterranean oven in 2009 and it has also been problem free. Their customer service is top notch.

Purchased an Alaska diesel heater. Works great. Keeps the 36' boat warm into a 2d NY winter. When there was an issue with the control unit (which I probably caused) they promptly shipped a replacement. My only cost was postage returning the original.Would buy from them again.

Great products and excellent customer service!!

Once installed, the marine heater was great in my boat, but Dickinson needs to get organized and make sure their information is consistent from all sources. Beware....you may not be getting the product you think you are buying. Models have been downgraded years ago, yet old specs are still out there everywhere.
