Truck stop/coffee shop type atmosphere anywhere else in canada but winnipeg, but an institution there otherwise. Food is ok. service was ok, the support staff seemed to be better than the server. walked past and noticed dish was done and asked politely if she could take that away?" while our server just looked at me like I had to finish it because there was a slice of toast left on it."

The service was alright, our waitress was an awkward talker. My husband and I got breakfast. He said the only good thing on his plate was the cubed hash browns. The toast was cheap and burnt, the sausages were terrible. My shredded hash browns were the only thing I didn’t like on my plate.

10/01/2023. Went to the Sals for twofr Tuesday. For those who don’t know about twofr Tuesday a lot of the menu items are 1/2 price.The staff are always very friendly even when the place is busy. The food is very good and the portions are not to big. The price was $$, reasonable.

March 2023I wanted to try this restaurant as it has been in business since 1931, and known as a Winnipeg institution.Large menu, and great prices. Not a fancy place, but the food is good.Nostalgic interior with posters and memerobilia everywhere.On the menu is a silver" section for meal deals for seniors. For $15 or less

Second visit, The person that seated us was great, and was joking around had us laughing,great start for a nice dinner out... He got us our coffee which was great,then the waitress came over,pretty blunt and matter of fact, my food wasn't good, (the seniors Salisbury steak) and the donut they served was a dry spice cake, with a thin chocolate coating...perhaps the third time is the charm! I see others have had replies from Sal's, but nothing for dissatisfied customers Huh!

We went here today for brunch , the place is so clean and surprisingly there was no waiting. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Table was arranged in just 2 min. Their server Jaden is awesome, she was patient with our order , has very happy and smiling personality, very attentive and fast. Thank you! We'll definitely go back again.

Saw my server a total of 4 times. Once to get drink orders, once to bring the drinks and take our order, once to bring the order, and once to bring the bill. No one asked how the meal was. My daughter wanted her ice cream after, but I couldn't even flag down our waitress. No coffee refill. So, I left $0 tip. Do better. So disappointed and likely will never be returning. Thanks for the worst experience! I'll be telling everyone I know to not come here also. Awful.

The food was cold and breakfast took almost 30 min to come out. They said we are busy?? We are never going back. The Stafford Sals is 2 times the size and 4 times busier, and the food comes out hot and within 15 min. It's definitely a management issue. The serving personal were friendly.

Great experience!! The food was sooo tasty and the server threw in a free piece of pie because it was our first time. Sides and fries and drinks were perfect. We stayed until close without realizing it and she was so sweet until the end and didn’t force us out at all.

Exceptional service. Ken is an awesome manager, super friendly and accommodating. He won a stuffy out of the claw machine there and gave it to my daughter. Not only that but when I wanted to grab donuts to go I couldn’t decide on which ones I wanted. He offered to put together a box with half of the chocolate dip and half of the coconut. Best of both worlds!Great job, keep up the good work !
