Academy for Mathematics & English, ActivityPlex

My son is in grade 12 and joined this Academy for math tutoring. His academic achievements were through the roof this year because of the great tutors and mentors from the Academy of Mathematics and English. My son has received all his top university offers all thanks to the owner Dave and his great academy tutors, they were great rolemodels for my son and guided him down a successful route in Advanced Functions and Calculus.Thanks for your guidance.

Our sons attended the Academy with Bruce and his team from grades 5 and 6 through to the end of Grade 12. The quality of the tutors (young and extremely well educated) meant a distinct change from the classroom" experience and meant an instant connection as there was not much of an age difference to begin with!! Both our lads started at the Academy for help with math

I was a student at the academy and my experience was horrible. I was tutored in grade 11 math by a tutor who was a highschool teacher, and he, on multiple occasions, taught me the wrong methods and gave me the incorrect answers. I spent much of my time arguing with him, just for me to be right. Moreover, the cost is very expensive, more expensive than a private tutor, but there are four students in each one hour class. The tutor only spends around 15-20 minutes with each student, for a very very expensive fee. It was NOT worth the money or time. I’m sure that for elementary subjects the tutoring service is more adequate, but for my honest experience doing high school level math, it was bad.

Our son attended the Academy beginning in Grade 8, through high school.Although initially very hesistant to attend, that hesitation quickly disappeared thanks to the positive environment the tutors provided. Very soon, our biggest issue became getting our son out of the Academy on time - he didn't want to leave! Without a doubt, the tutoring and encourgement he received from Bruce's staff of tutors has provided ourson with invaluable study skills that enabled him to grow academically year after year. He is currently finishing his fourth year of Mechanical Engineering. We are most grateful to Bruce and his staff for their contributions to his academic achievements.

The curriculum for university level math and science in high school can be very challenging and Academy for Mathematics & English and its tutors were there to help out. My daughters excelled academically in their math & sciences courses because of the one on one tutoring, exam prep courses, the expertise knowledge and their tutors' ability to explain the concepts in terms that were understandable to them.I would like to thank Bruce Rippon and his team of tutors at Academy for Mathematics & English for tutoring my daughters and developing within them drive to learn.

I have three kids who are all currently in university. All three attended The Academy for Mathematics and English with Bruce in Burlington at various times in high school. The tutoring service was very effective, and we typically saw marks improve by about 10%. Bruce is very professional to work with, and the tutoring staff was always very good. My kids definitely benefited by learning from a different person, outside of their regular high school environment. I would highly recommend The Academy for Mathematics and English to any student that wants to improve their marks, and simply gain a better understanding of the topic at hand.

My son attended the Academy throughout high school and graduated with honours. He went on to attend post secondary with a focus on computer science and following graduation was employed in an IT position. Bruce and his team were an integral part of his success. The tutors were able to simplify and explain complex concepts in a way he was able to understand. We can't thank the team enough for their support throughout the years!

I signed my daughter up for the Super Readers program last spring. She was in Grade One at the time and, while she was learning at school, she was still struggling and wasn't particularly receptive to extra reading work with me :) I have seen a marked improvement in her reading since she joined. Even as important, she really enjoys attending- it is never a challenge to get her to go. She loves the teachers and the program generally and it has changed her attitude towards reading. She is soon coming to the end of the program and, while I had really just intended to sign her up for Super Readers, she has asked if she cans continue on with tutoring after it ends!
