Lee is a fantastic teacher! Despite the challenges that Zoom learning can present, he engaged us all in the lessons and gave us the confidence to speak, although we were beginners, and also to start writing in Arabic. I am definitely returning for Lee's more advanced courses!

Lee is an amazing teacher and has structured his classes to focus on what you need to know to start speaking conversational Arabic as quickly as possible. I tried multiple one-on-one teachers and found it hard to find someone teaching the Levantine dialect, difficulty retaining what I was learning, and too much time spent on the formalities when I was in a time crunch to start speaking. In one (affordable) course I already learned far more usable words and phrases than I did in months with my other tutors, and gained much more confidence.

Lee is an excellent teacher. His class are not large, so that everyone can get a handle on the material. I've studied in other Arabic language classes trying to learn the language and none of them were engaging or fun .Lee has a way of connecting hard material in a creative and humorous and engaging way. I've enjoyed studying by him and continue to do so. I highly recommend his class for those who want to learn Arabic

I have been looking for an Arabic class like this for 20 years! Not only is Lee and gifted teacher but he brings so much kindness and energy to each class. I found the pacing really great—enough that every class I was pushed to learn more but I never felt overwhelmed. I really appreciate the clarity Lee brings regarding the specific dialect of Arabic we are learning and how it differs from other dialects. If you want to learn Levantine Arabic, Damascus Gate is an incredible resource!!!

Honestly give this class a try. Lee is a great teacher and his approach, and subject matter are very helpful for the beginners level. Definitely learned a lot and I would absolutely insist you give it a try. I do have some Arabic words and expressions that I use on a somewhat regular basis now thanks to Lee. Thank you for inspiring me to learn Arabic I would absolutely take this class again

I have been wanting to learn Arabic for awhile now and this was the perfect class! Lee focuses on conversational Arabic (so you can actually talk with others!) and teaches at a great pace for beginners. I would highly recommend taking this class!!!

As far as spoken Arabic courses go, this is amazing! Lee is not only a knowledgable teacher but he puts his heart and soul into it; and, that rubs off on the students. Entertaining, educational, and addictive. The lessons are practical and easy to put into practical use immediately. I'm all ready to sign up for the next level.

Lee is a fantastic teacher. He's very well prepared and knowledgeable, and classes are engaging and enjoyable. I look forward to them every week. He has a great facility with the language and dialects. He teaches with an appropriate balance of expectations and understanding when we students are less prepared than we should be. We plan on continuing learning and making progress under Lee's expert tutelage.

I've now had about 5 Arabic lessons with Lee. Lee is a talented linguist and a master of Arabic. He accommodates my tendency to speak either English or French during our lessons. He is an excellent teacher. He is always well prepared and makes learning enjoyable. He has paced and structured our lessons and the homework such that I am building a solid base of conversational Arabic. As an MD, he is helping me master Arabic so that I can take a history and complete a physical examination. Lee is awesome and I highly recommend him for anyone (even a beginner like me) that is interested in learning Arabic. Shukran.

Lee is an extremely knowledgable, enthusiastic, engaging and professional educator. His classes are very fun to be in and very easy to learn from. Lee manages to create an atmosphere, even over Zoom, that actively encourages participation. Participants of his classes are made to feel incredibly comfortable, with no question too stupid or off limits. I would highly highly recommend Lee to anyone looking to learn Arabic from scratch.
