Our stay at Salty Towers was a wonderful experience in every way. It was offbeat and quirky, homey and comfortable. John and Beth went out of their way to welcome us into their home. The thing I enjoyed the most was creating some great music with John (sorry, I didn't mean to keep you up until 1 in the morning). My wife enjoyed the soft sheets with the pretty pink flowers on them. Felt like a home away from home. Can't wait to go back.

We enjoyed Salty Towers so much we returned after only 2 days! The hosts are delightful and very helpful with suggestions and information. The rooms are comfortable. There is lots of space to relax and enjoy quiet time or great conversations with other guests. Will definitely return.

First time staying in St. Andrews and, full disclosure, it was to visit with Jon and Beth. We had not seen the property before but it's clear the amount of love they have put into refreshing it. Our room was beautiful, the bed super comfy. The quirks of the different rooms only lend to their charm, and don't take anything away from their efficiency. The common areas are so welcoming and relaxing. We loved how close it is to stores, restaurants, and activities. We didn't move our car from when we arrived to when we left. Coffee in the morning was appreciated. Can't wait until breakfast is available with it. We'll be back!

If you want a friendly and interesting place to stay in when you go to St. Andrews - this is it. Beth and John are amazing, caring and accommodating people. They have worked to make Salty Towers really special and comfortable. They are music lovers and John has a long music history. Bring your guitar! They really make you feel at home. It is not everyday that you can feel immediately connected to people you meet for the first time but John and Beth have a way about them that is very special. I would like to thank them both again for a lovely and heartfelt stay. I hope we make it back again soon.

My wife and I finally booked Salty Towers after many years of simply walking past and being curious about the property. I must say that I am very pleased with our decision. We booked the Hillside Suite. It has a well equipped kitchenette and a very good Queen size bed...and believe me ....when it comes to mattresses my back is very fussy. I also love the fact that it is a short walk to shops and eateries of all sorts , and just a few hundred feet from the water. The hosts Jon and Beth Weaver were an absolute joy, just wonderful at being hosts of this historic property. The tour Jon gave us of the Inn and it's many rooms was quite entertaining and informative. We took part in the live music offered on Friday and Saturday evenings and enjoyed meeting other guests. All in all it was a wonderful visit and I believe we have found our new happy" spot in St Andrews...."

Salty Towers
It was a dark and stormy night.........we were making our way home from the U.S. and had booked a hotel in St. Andrews-By-The-Sea; however, when we arrived - there was NO ROOM AT THE INN! It ended up being a fairly harrowing experience, and by the time we'd staggered back out onto the street, we were afraid we might have to sleep in the car :(However, an angel was obviously watching out for us. (And I doubted their existence!) At the other end of the street we found the most charming inn: Salty Towers. We were sure they would be closed for the season, but we called anyway (sounding slightly hysterical I'm pretty sure).Beth and Jon, two of the loveliest people we have ever met, welcomed us with open hearts and open arms. They are the warmest, kindest, most thoughtful and caring of people. They could not have been more helpful, or more empathetic. Salty Towers itself is an inn with a fascinating past, and is utterly charming, and extremely comfortable. We spent the night talking and laughing; they are both so much fun - witty, knowledgeable, talented and generous. Gifted raconteurs who also want to know your story. We have never had an experience like that in any hotel we have ever stayed! We arrived strangers, in from the cold, but we left as friends. We can't wait to go back and visit them again. Thank you, Beth and Jon, for such a fabulous and unforgettable experience. Thank you for your kindness.

Salty Towers
We had a two night stay in one of the rooms with a separate entrance and queen bed. Salty Towers is nicely located a couple of blocks down from the main shops/restaurants part of town. Quiet neighborhood. The new owners are super friendly and we had a couple of very nice chats with them, getting to know more about the town and their journey to ownership of Salty Towers. The home has several nice common areas that guests are welcome to use: an open porch, an enclosed porch overlooking the street (which we spent some time reading in), and a room with fireplace, game table, and furniture to lounge in. Our room was nicely appointed. Not fancy or luxurious, but the space was comfortable and inviting. The kitchen area did not have a coffee maker but I suspect if we had asked, one would have immediately appeared. Don't expect to cook any big meals here - the kitchen is small and the facilities and limited. But for breakfast and lunch for two, it is fine. The bathroom is small. Only one person at a time. We give it 5 stars for the kind and friendly owners, great location, comfortable room and inviting common areas.
