I have not been here for a while but must say I was glad to return. They had a Wednesday fish and chip special that was priced very nicely.They were friendly, quick and efficient. The place was clean and most importantly the food was very fresh and tasty.

The best fish & chips in Hamilton hands down.Prices are decent and the staff is very friendly. They don't wrap the food in dirty old newspaper like some other place in the city does which is disgusting. The coleslaw is delish too...lol!

Good fish and chips place. 3 types of fish on the menu. Staff are friendly. I spent some time chatting with them and realised the batter is made fresh daily. Nothing additional to the fish but it comes out with a great taste. A little oily though, due to the deep frying, however, if you love fish and chips, oil comes with it. :). I will come back anytime.

I ordered halibut and chips. I was absolutely disgusted by the paper thin piece of fish I received and a hand full of chips... so disappointed after all the years I have been going there. I realize things are expensive now but that was absolutely highway robbery. I cannot believe they actually thought that was ok to give a customer for $20. I did take it back after complaining. When i got back home it wasn't replaced with halibut... It wasn't even haddock.. I will not be going back anymore.

I discovered Golden Fish Chips through Google maps when I was searching for a place close to me and it had good reviews. We weren't disappointed.The place was busy when we arrived but service was fast, friendly and efficient.Hubby and I had the halibut and chips, the fish was really delicious. Great taste, and the batter was crispy and light and was accompanied by a generous portion of good chips. The others in our party of 4 had the $6.99 special, which was a really good deal - two pieces of fish and a good portion of chips. We also took a large coleslaw which we all enjoyed.Our experience dining in at Golden Fish and Chips was really positive from the service, the food and ambience. We will definitely be back.

Under normal circumstances they get 4 or 5.I paid for 2 halibut and chips and it wasn't halibut. 1st time it's happened to me. Annoying AF since it's like $40.Had they not been so busy i would have went back that night. It was their fish and chip special night.If it happens again i will be calling and complaining and at that point they will have lost me forever.

Normally a good place i went there today and it was gross. Fries were horrible so cold and then just deep fried for a couple seconds before serving disgusting. Gravy which everyone knows I love and am all about 3 out of 10 at best probably 3 day old added water heated up and served. You can't serve food like that man we loved this place before there on a 4 to 5 month band. I recommend you look to make sure there are no fries cooked when you walk in, if there are walk straight out believe you me I will be gross.
