Family Care Midwives

I had such a great experience with Family Care Midwives, especially with super kind and helpful receptionists and the team 2 of midwives. My overall pregnancy experience was great, I received an excellent care and when needed, was referred to specialists. I want to say a big Thank You to Jackie, Cindy, and Jyothy!!! I had fast and easy hospital delivery!

From start to finish, I had the most incredible experience with my first pregnancy while being cared for by my team of midwives: Cindy, Roya, & Samihah. I am extremely thankful for the whole experience - from their personal touch, to helping me make informed decisions along the way, answering my never ending questions, listening to my stories/feelings/whatever was on my mind, the birth experience, and the postpartum period including the home visit - I felt genuinely cared for and supported and will be forever grateful for this positive experience.In particular, I had an amazing birth experience of our first baby. Cindy Riggs was my midwife who delivered our healthy baby girl, Ava. My birth plan was to have our baby naturally - 100% unmedicated. With the encouragement and care and immense support I received from Cindy (and my hubby, of course) I was able to stick with my birth plan. I honestly couldn’t have done it without her! When I needed her words of wisdom the most, she was there for me. I felt safe and in good hands in the most vulnerable moment of my life, which really helped my body relax and make the contractions work their magic. I didn’t feel like just another patient. I knew she genuinely wanted to make sure I was ok and baby was ok and wanted the best outcome for us. Cindy’s passion for her profession and for people is so evident - she is truly following her calling. Even my hubby tells everyone what an experience the birth was… and how having Cindy there really took ‘the pressure’ off him as she never left the birthing room and was there for me every step of the way once I got to the hospital. We can’t thank her enough!!I would highly recommend Family Care Midwives and the overall midwife experience!I will be back when we’re ready for baby #2

Excellent practice. I have used the midwives for 2 of my beautiful children. Both Jackie and Sharon were our midwives and they are amazing. They adhere to and respect my birth plan and pregnancy mentality and they are both so down to earth, relaxed, and calm as well as very knowledgeable, so I never worried about anything and could always make informed decisions based on their professional feedback and suggestions.They are a great team. If I have a third baby, I will certainly be using family care midwives again. I also love going to the annual summer picnic to see them after the post natal discharge, its really nice!

Loved loved loved my care at family care midwives, I’m back with them to have my second baby!! My first experience was exceptional! I always had great care, the receptionists are amazing and super friendly and always got back to me if they missed my call! They are understanding and caring. I asked a million questions and my midwives Jackie and Sharon were very supportive and made sure to answer all my questions and make me feel as comfortable as possible. I’m excited I was able to get into this place for a midwife this time around! Very personable and caring people, I also never felt rushed at any of my appointments! During my Labour I had Seen Roya (in the beginning), Buhay and Sharon finishes off the job and stuck with me through the whole thing, they did amazing at making me feel comfortable and helping me get through Labour. Definitely recommend coming here.McKenzie health isn’t my favorite hospital but the midwives make it very worth it!

I’m 1 week away from my 6w postpartum discharge appointment and I already miss my midwifes. It was very difficult during this pandemic times to go through the whole pregnancy without any members of my family (that are back in my home country). The midwifes were so caring and respectful that it made so much easier for me. Also the front desk girls are very polite and great at their job. I have to give extra credit to Mei Lou that did my delivery. She literally save my life with her experience and knowledge. I wish I could be under her care forever. Definitely coming back for baby number 2!

The midwives are very knowledgeable and extremely caring and compassionate. Staff are amazing and very quick and responsive! Had a smooth and safe delivery all thanks to the incredible support from Jyothy and Marcia. Highly recommend Family Care Midwives!

The experience and care was amazing I never felt like a number here. Everytime I needed someone to assist me one of them were there. I was close to my due date and couldn't make a sound once the answering system told me to do a recording, my contractions were strong. Within minutes my midwife knew it was me based on the timing of what should be my delivery date and met me at the hospital within an hour. She was there, checked me, held my hand, let me cry, rubbed my back, and safely delivered my beautiful baby boy. She let me cut his cord, and snuggle with him immediately. I was so happy for her being there. There was a second midwife who I just met right then and I immediately fell in love with her presence as well. She kept reassuring me it was ok to scream even though the RN said no haha! But delivery was so fast, this being my 3rd live birth after 3 miscarriages in 5 years, I felt Roya and Elvira were sent from heaven that night. We haven't been discharged like regular patients here which I didn't like, if you get sick or they get sick, once it's past 6 weeks they move on from you pretty quick. Though I didn't like the hospital treatment after they left, the room was only the nice experience but it has COVID era written all over it how it's so isolating, but you get your own washroom and tv with an iPad. The doctor there, Dr. Gryn was very pressuring and insensitive. So if you can before your due date, request as much post birth options once the midwives leave you. If you don't have to stay in the hospital - don't. Trust me. Go home happy with your baby if you can the same day. I hope for their sake they break ties with cortellucci, the hospital has bad reviews for a reason.

The personal approach and care by my midwives (Sharon & Jackie) throughout pregnancy, during the delivery, and post birth were absolutely amazing. The service was outstanding. I was able to reach the office or my midwives at any time of the day.It was my first child and I'm so glad I chose to go with Family Care Midwives. I will definitely return to them in the future and recommend to all my friends. Thank you for an awesome experience.

I have no words to express my gratitud to Family Care Midwives specially to Cindy & Samiha (team 3) I had an amazing experience & exceptional care during and after my pregnancy and for my baby. They are extremely knowledgeable makes you feel so comfortable and treat you as family, the front desk is so friendly and polite. Every appointment was on time they took the time to explain to me and educate me about my options & worked together to accomplish my birth plan. Being my second pregnancy and having an OB first I’m convinced having a midwife this time around was the best decision for myself my baby & family, my hospital unmedicated birth went smoothly and I have to give many thanks to Cindy & Samiha! I can not praise them and recommended them enough! Thank you !

The team at FCM are passionate, informative and professional. They made our experience exceptional once again. We had the pleasure of having a team of wonderful midwives support us at the clinic and attend our home birth. Jothy and Elvira were an excellent tag team. They made me feel comfortable through whole experience, explaining and providing me the strength and support needed. I would definitely recommend a Home Birth. It is a wonderful experience that everyone should have. Thank you again xoxo
