Kung Fu Tea on Harwood (Ajax)

Not trying to be rude, but the bubble waffle was just not very good. It’s a bit hard and chewy with a rubbery feeling. The pearl latte w/ brown sugar was ok, but it looks nothing like the picture on the menu.

I've been here for alot of times, so I think I can give a good detailed review now.Location: In an apartment plaza that's close by to a pizza place, the main branch, and an ice rink. Inside, the design is unique, and they offer wifi. A pretty good study spot if you're into bubble tea and studying in cafes. Parking makes this location inconvenient, but as somebody who is a commuter, this is whatever. Overall, good to stop by if you're on the way, going out of your way would take time. Might be better to order online if that's the case.Menu: They offer the basics of bubble tea. Compared to KF tea, which have pretty unique combinations like a Pina Colada slush, this place offers pretty basic combinations. The tea is good, and I come here pretty often to know my favorites. Taro here used to be grainy, but I've heard it has changed and is great now. They have fruit tea slushes which would be their 1 unique menu item I can think off. Overall, a typical boba store which has a standard menu selection.Service: Because they're new, it's a bit unfair to assess their service quality yet. Customer service is hard, which I get, but a better system should be made for rush hours. There was a review here earlier critiquing the time it took for an online order to be made, and how there were only 2 employees. I had a similar experience, but granted, those employees had to make an online order of 10+ drinks and other large orders before they could get to mine, so I can't fault them for that. Overall, good service, except lack of organization during rush hours.Pricing: It's a boba store, all of them are very expensive. Pricing here is relatively cheaper than other stores. They have coupons, though, as well as daily sales. A point system that's pretty generous, and the sizing of the drinks are reasonable. Overall, this is what the pricing 'should' look like.Events: They don't have any. Boba stores like Coco, Chatime, have christmas drinks, but this store didn't. This can be ignored given they opened around Winter. Hoping for special promotional events though next year!To put it simply, a good boba store with a standard menu, unique dining space, and standard service quality. Come here if you want a study space, or you want simple boba. Otherwise, go to others for more unique experiences.

Looking for some great bubble tea or dessert - make sure to check out Kung Fu Tea. Plenty of options to choose from and a clean and modern space to enjoy the treats in. Or take it outside and watch the ice skaters in winter. Take advantage of the monthly specials for a deal.Parking is a little tricky - you can park on Harwood Road (only a few spots) EDU Kids or the underground condo parking lot (access off Harwood)

Solid bbt spot, with a large variety of options for drinks. Strawberry yogurt slush and mango yogurt slush were delicious, the lite fruit tea drink was ok, wouldn’t get it again though. Parking here is limited.

Parking situation is a disaster. Extremely limited parking forcing you to park in front of the condo nearby and risk getting a ticket.When ordering, the employee could hardly speak English and wasn't very helpful. The actual bubble tea itself was good though, with lots of options.

Absolutely loved the Taro Slush with Brown Sugar Boba. So good!

It is a new and beautiful location. The parking is extremely limited so both times I've visited I had to park in a no parking/fire route zone by the building roundabout and just hoped I wouldn't get ticketed.The first time I visited, I came a little over an hour before closing and the employee wasn't too friendly and didn't greet us or anything which we didnt necessarily mind because we weren't sure what we wanted yet so it gave us time to decide however, once she was ready to take an order she just stared at us and seemed agitated that we weren't ready and didn't say anything which made us feel a bit rushed. She didnt say much at all overall which was a bit uncomfortable but I figured maybe she was just tired/drained from a long day (doesn't excuse the customer service but I still understand). We ordered 5 drinks and all of them were pretty good and affordable with the 20% off soft opening sale they have, my favourite being the 38 milk king. Overall a 3/5 for this trip.I came a second time to give this place another shot because it's somewhat close to where I live and it could have just been an off day for them. We went around 9pm. This time, the employee immediately greeted us and patiently waited until we were ready to order (it didnt take us long to choose either time bc I look at menus in advance before coming to a new place). She was nice, friendly and was much more conversational and made us feel more welcomed and not rushed or uncomfortable at all. It was a quick and simple exchange. If it wasn't for the parking issue I would rate this time a 4.5/5 only because the drink I got the first time was better and more flavourful than the one I got this time lol. Based off of this visit, I will likely continue to visit.

Fast and efficient service, drinks are really good as well! We miss the bold aromatic tea flavours that other bbt shops in Durham lack, and we’re glad they’re here to fill that gap! Staff are friendly and patient as we were looking at the menu. Would highly recommend if you’re craving bbt in Durham! Ice cream black warrior is our favourite :)

We Love the strawberry yogurt :)June 4, 2023: Came back today for our usual drinks but this time it didn’t taste the same. It didn’t taste good. Sorry. The colour is not even pink. I asked the girl, she said they used jams instead?? I paid for 2 drinks and sorry not coming back. Bought a few times but this time it didn’t taste the same.

Great atmosphere but the service sucked. I wasn't greeted and all the workers look serious and miserable. Ordered two mango slush which was watery. Walking distance from my home but won't be back
