One of the best meals we had in Quebec! The restaurant was very elegant and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. The beef cheek was so tender and delicious. The French onion soup was one of the best I’ve tried. Great wine list too. Highly recommend!

You will get the best bang for your buck here. It is one of the best restaurants that we went to while in Quebec. That's saying a lot, this place has the best food, and Boulay ranks towards the top.I had the beef cheek. It was so good, and the berries with it were a chef's kiss. My wife loved the fish. I had the French Onion Soup, and it was by far the best that I've had.The creme burlee tasted so good. I loved the little muffin on top. We had the duck liver, and I feel that is an aquired taste. Our waitress had mad skills. She got our food and drinks so quick. You will not be disappointed here. Morr than likely it will be a highlight on your culinary trip.

Overall experience 100/100All the foods+desserts were amazing. It was more than we expected.We had1 mocktail + 1 cocktail + 2 appet + 2 main. + 2 dessert.Price also reasonable. I think we cant get these quality of foods with these price.

So glad we walked by this gem of a restaurant. The menu caught our attention and we were so pleased we got a table for lunch. Every dish was delicious - the flavours were well composed and the plating was beautiful. The service was friendly and attentive.We will definitely be back here on our next visit to Old Quebec. Highly recommend!

Not on the menu was the scallop ceviche appetizer. Fresh, and refreshing, very tasty. Texture was delicate and delightful.Beef cheek was outstanding. Every bite bursting with different flavours from the carrots, ham, and mushroom pairings. You can feel the fibers of the beef as it falls right off. Super tender and juicy.Arctic Char was perfectly cooked and paired well with the wild rice.The Sea Buckthorn pie had a nice citrus kick to it.Service was quick and helpful.

We called on a Saturday night and within 15 minutes they had a table ready for us. The area that the restaurant is in is really busy. if you are driving forget it, parking is impossible. Anyway the service was outstanding. The waiter recommended the halibut dish and I told him that I was hungry and he told me to try the quail. It's a little pricey but it's worth every penny. We will be back.

This experience was fantastic. From top to bottom it was very enjoyable. The minute you walk in you will notice the classy decor, the warm ambience and relaxed vibe. The host staff are very welcoming and our server was so genuinely interested in making our experience wonderful that she went through the entire menu and assisted us in choosing options that suited our tastes. I must say it was very exciting to not only try new things that I will most likely never get the opportunity to eat again but very much enjoy them. The Arctic Char was the best fish I have ever had, cooked to perfection. We also went into dessert, choosing two selections that we've never even heard of...yet another great leap of culinary fate that we certainly do not regret. On that note, you must attend Chez Boulay for a culinary experience that will not disappoint.Bon Appetit.

I had the artic char which arrived 3 quarters raw. After I pointed it out it was redone and I got a new plate. The fish at that point was very good. Unfortunately the waitress never followed up after I got the new plate nor ever offered a discount as I are much later than every one else at the table which sucked. She did ask when we paid but to me thats too late and a miss on customer service. My friends fish was also undercooked but not as bad as mine so he decided to keep it. The carpaccio app was very good but the cheese plate was just ok. The atmosphere was bustling so that was fun but if you want quiet and relaxed not the place to go.Erreur de cuisine sur le poisson.Serveuse a manquer du cote service a la clientele d'apres moi. Bonne qualitee une fois rectifier mais l'expérience ma decu.

Best gastronomy experience while in Quebec City. The food here is just another level compared to the rest - it tops everyone else!Ambience is warm and casual with a touch of class (err hmmm… perfect for date nights or celebrations). The servers ensure customers feel like they have just come home - I felt super welcomed and interactions were fun and comfortable.Florent recommended us to try the Fish-of-the-Day plus Beef Cheeks (braised for no less than 30 hours) and they were out of this world awesome! The fish tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. No, the chef did NOT overcook it. The Beef Cheeks - oooh lala - were tender and full of umami. It had just the right amount of fat and the sauce complimented the dish very well.We left Florent to surprise us with a dessert and he introduced us to the Seabuckthorn Pie which is unique to Quebec. Needless to say, the pie was wonderful and not to sweet!We really enjoyed our experience here.Location = 5/5Ambience = 4.5/5Service = 5/5 (thanks to Florent)Food = 5/5Pricing = 5/5Thank you, Chez Boulay, for your hospitality! If you wanna try french-québécois dishes, this is the right place you can enjoy! I was firstly struggling when looking at the menu as i wasn’t familiar with all the menus here, but the staff kindly explained and recommended my types. I really loved all the dishes I had here thanks to her recommendations. If you would like to have some unique and distinct dishes, you have to absolutely visit this place
