Viking Nest Bed & Breakfast
The Viking Nest was beyond delightful, the owner was welcoming, and very friendly. The nearby the Viking tour was terrific and we learned about genetics of red haired genes. Excellent location for the Viking excavation site. There was unlimited, bottomless coffee and cookies. The rooms were cozy with a fantastic breakfast with an array of delightful local jams and home made bread which made all the difference. Local customs were evident. The hospitality was unparallel to anything we've ever experienced this side of the Mississippi. Our host went beyond our expectations even calling the local restaurants for reservations.

The location suited our days' excursions to L'Anse aux Meadows. Our room was nicely furnished but small. The seating/living area made for a pleasant area in which to visit with others. Management could not have been nicer

Nice little room, shared bathroom. Everything is clean! Very close to the water & to L’anse aux meadows. The tip of Newfoundland! Note that if you go in non tourist season - a lot will be closed. I went in mid April - better experience would be after Mid may/june id say!

We would stay there again. Thelma and her husband were just so friendly. As was their cook Ruth who made our lovely breakfast. Homemade bread and homemade jams from the local berries.

We spent two nights here, and very much enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent. Thelma and her husband made us feel very welcome with their hospitality. Highly recommended!

Thelma was out of town, but Madge was accommodating and helped me get settled. The place was clean and comfortable, and the bed was comfy. Good wi-fi and easy to do laundry in the other guest house. Marie made a delicious made-to-order breakfast that I really enjoyed. Short walk to a lovely rocky cove. Beautiful area and relaxing b&b. Couldn't be a better location for enjoying L'ans aux meadow. This and Viking Village B&B are right next to each other in Hay Cove.

As close as you can get to the Viking site without pitching a tent illegally on it. The only downside is a shared washroom, but with only 3 rooms that isn't a serious issue. The homemade jams that come with breakfast are heaven sent, don't pass up the chance to enjoy them.

Thelma and her husband are pleasant and friendly, and open to chatting with us about our trip and about the local area and their life experience. The home is clean and well kept. Breakfast is delicious and was served to us at the table on time. My son was interested in the guitar they had on display and they let him play with it. They said they have it out so if any guests play, they can. On our way out we even saw an iceberg in the ocean from shore just steps away from this location. My only negative comment would be that we assumed it was non-smoking and the areas we occupied were non-smoking, however, I think perhaps they smoked in their private space in the basement so occasionally you could smell a strong cigarette smoke smell. My daughter said the towels smelled of cigarette smoke but I didn't find that to be the case.Overall a lovely place to stay, close to L'Anse aux Meadows and Norstead.
