I recommend being prepared to strongly advocate for yourself to your midwife. I had 2 babies with midwives from here. One is 2020 which would receive 5 stars" for their supreme patience and guidance through a high risk pregnancy (2 of those midwifes are no longer here). My second baby was born in 2022. One of my midwives seemed a bit harsher and less patient than the others during my pregnancy but I tried not to overthink it and felt mostly heard by the other midwives. During the first part of my labour unfortunately the harsh midwife was on call... they were then very harsh

Conflicting messaging from front desk and midwives, lack of coordination and accessibility with scheduling, inconsistent health information about our newborn, confusing questions about health information in their own files and records, lack of confidentiality about personal health information in the waiting room, lack of adequate referrals for the family.

I just wanna start off by saying that this place is quite amazing, like beyond amazing. We went through different places and especially different OBGYN’s and the standard of care Midwife’s provide is quite incomparable, midwife’s are amazing I can’t say that enough, now our specific experience was with Erin Deveber, she is one of the best human beings we have ever came across in our life, and we are extremely lucky to have had her as our midwife and to have her bring our baby boy into this world. She is extremely experienced, extremely compassionate, and will do everything to make sure your pregnancy and delivery go as smoothly as comfortably and special, we can’t write enough praises here but all we can say is this place cared for all our needs and wants and did everything to make us comfortable and they are extremely lucky to have a midwife like Erin on their team. If we could we would leave 50 thousands stars/5

I had a great experience with my midwives and others in the practice. I sought out midwifery care for my third pregnancy since I was not satisfied with the OB/GYN care for my first two pregnancies. Erica and Laura provided very attentive care and I had a wonderful experience overall. I would highly recommend them and the entire team of midwives!

Had an amazing midwife experience with Community Midwives for both of my babies. I loved their knowledgeable and compassionate approach. The whole team is great, and I’ve had friends with excellent experiences with midwives there, as well. Highly recommend.

I gave birth in July 2020. My midwife team was amazing. They were supportive, kind, caring and relaxed. During my birth at McMaster they made me feel comfortable and did everything I wanted without myself it my partner needing to ask. Emily was at my birth with student midwife Sydney. They are a dream. I honestly cannot day enough good things. They did home visits and caught my sons jaundice early so that it did not get out of control. As a first time mom I really appreciate how my team made me feel safe and understood. They helped me with what was the best experience of my life. I cannot thank them enough.

We had such an amazing experience at CMOH with our 3 midwives. Our primary midwife was Erin, but the other two midwives we saw during our time with CMOH, Elizabeth and Marie Pierre, were so supportive and we connected so well with. We felt that all of our questions and concerns throughout the pregnancy were answered and discussed with us with great care, when I was nervous about any aspect of pregnancy or parenting one of the midwives was quick to chat with me to ensure I was feeling comfortable and supported — one time Elizabeth even made a home visit so we could listen to baby’s heartbeat and calm some of my worries. When it came to the day I gave birth, we were BEYOND grateful for our team especially since everything was going a lot faster at home than expected and Erin was quick to meet us at McMaster Hospital and did an amazing job supporting us during and after the birth of our daughter. For the 6 weeks postpartum, I felt so calm and cared for because I could call Erin at any time to check in and the daily/weekly visits made being a first time mother so much better. As someone who chose to and was able to breastfeed, I felt so supported by Erin to ensure I felt comfortable and knowledgeable about how to make sure everything was going smoothly with feeding and she was quick to provide advice for things like comfortable positioning. It was so hard to stop having the care after the 6 weeks but we were SO grateful for the time we did get. We can’t say enough amazing things about midwives and about our experience at CMOH with the midwives we were lucky enough to work with! We honestly can’t believe this is a service that we didn’t need to pay for and we feel more people should have the opportunity to work with midwives.
