Our server was so nice and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The food is very basic. The kids liked the food. Location is good.

After a long day of traveling we were heading home to Ottawa from Toronto me and a friend decided to look for a place to eat dinner and because of the Stellar reviews we decided on trying out Turtle Johns and we were not disappointed, this place was amazing, great service, great food and amazing drinks. After ordering many appetizers because we couldn’t decide on just one we ordered dinner and couldn’t finish it and they were kind enough to be able to give us a doggy bag so we could bring our meals home. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for an awesome place to eat.

Turtle John's Restaurant & Bar Port Hope
We recently made a booking for 40 people a few weeks in advance. When we arrived the space was set up for less than our reservation. There was one server assigned to our group. It took almost 45 minutes to take drink orders and bring drinks out. Finally orders for food were taken and some food started coming out 45 minutes later and continued to come out for the next half hour. Some folks had to take their food to go as we needed to leave after two hours and everyone else had to wolf down their meals. Half of our crowd was under the age of 13 and making a 10 year old wait 1.5 hours for chicken fingers and fries is ridiculous. Had it been last minute, it would have been one thing, but they were not prepared for us even with two weeks notice. Our poor waitress did the best she could but they never should have said yes to this reservation if they couldn't staff it properly. The food may have been good but we didn't have time to taste it properly.

I went here for mother's day lunch with my son and daughter in-law. Getting seated right away was great but that's about as good as my experience got. We ordered a starter and 3 meals. A chicken ceasar for my daughter, chicken fajitas for my son, and the 8 oz steak special for myself. Asking for everything to be brought out together. They brought everything except for my steak special. Stayed that it was going to be a few more mins. 15 mins later(kids waiting to eat with me)I went to the kitchen. As I was going there the waitress came out with my food. Great I thought. I sat down to eat, only to have my veggies feel like they came out of the fridge. The mashed potatoes also as cold. The steak was ok but at that point I was famished and just ate the food. Oh and I forgot to mention that the waitress was swearing while setting up others larger tables. Over all not impressed with my mother's day luch at this establishment

My wife and I dined in last Friday. We had Erin as our server. Erin was fantastic and very friendly. The food was delicious and service was quick. My wife had the chicken fajita wrap and onion rings...she said it was oh so good!!" I had the chicken Sammy with fries and it was amazing. Prices are very reasonable especially for the quality and portion sizes. Overall our experience was tremendous and enjoyable. We will definitely be back. Thanks to Erin and the staff."

Turtle John's Restaurant & Bar Port Hope
We had a husky with us. Asked if we could sit in the patio with our pet. Yes, that was the answer. Richie was very accommodating to us. Always asked if everything was OK. Got a big bowl of ice water for the husky. It was our first time in Port Hope Ontario. We really enjoyed our experience at Turtles John's.Besides the great service and nice atmosphere. The food prices are perfect, not over priced. Awesome coconut shrimp appetizers. We were also impressed with the butter chicken. It comes with Naan. That's a bonus!! Thanks Richie, see ya soon.

Friendly service, good food and a nice patio. Would definitely recommend for a nice summer evening! The New York strip loin and Salmon and shrimp were both great!

Turtle John's Restaurant & Bar Port Hope
From Toronto and we went to this restaurant on Saturday night. Two adults and three kids. Service was amazing. Food was great. Uncle Richie was so great with the kids and us. Staff and patrons were very welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant!
