The Insignia Hotel, Sarnia, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Rented a Traditional King room. Well designed and modernized, friendly helpful staff. Book online and pay ahead for a reduced rate. Definitely one of the nicest hotels in Sarnia.Features: Nespresso machine (small pods), mini fridge, microwave, kettle, smart tv, single robe, iron + board, free wifi and parking included. Shower no bathtub. Usb ports on night table.Issues: Older building beautifully redone but AC unit in room was quite loud. Room 110 is next to the public restroom and what sounded like a laundry room so maybe avoid that room if you're a light sleeper although there was a white noise speaker in the room if that helps you. We were told at check in breakfast was complimentary but then were presented with a bill after eating breakfast. The buffet style breakfast is $20/adult, $12.50/child or you can order off their restaurant menu. If you are plant based, almond milk available on request.Bonus: modern, clean, spacious fitness room with free weights, machines and cardio equipment. Small, clean pool (leisure, no laps) with small hot tub and single person sauna on pool deck. Beautiful restaurant but it is quite pricey with few plant based options (can modify a pasta dish when asked).

This was a great place to stay at! I loved the historical outside of the building with the complete modernization inside. It seems as if they chose to keep a water well that was located inside the building. It's secured and filled in but the brick and pump itself looks authentic and there is no reason to believe otherwise! The food was great, the staff was great, and we'll definitely be staying here again in the future.

We booked into the Insignia Hotel in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada and were pleasantly surprised with our stay. The hotel is located downtown, is newly renovated and our room was very clean and modern. They have laminate and tile flooring, a welcome change to carpet. Included were some heavy white cotton housecoats, a kitchenette with microwave, Keurig, kettle, fridge and assortment of coffee and tea. The beds were comfortable with crisp bedding. The gym had a great assortment of equipment and machines and the pool area included single use saunas and good size hot tub. Both were very clean, modern and well maintained. Breakfast in the restaurant offered a variety of the typical breakfast choices which were very good. The Insignia Hotel is definitely where we will stay again in Sarnia…and hopefully I won’t lose my photos so I can update this post with some but the pictures shown online are what you can expect.

A beautiful hotel. The decor is stunning. Clean and comfy. This hotel may be a little tricky for wheelchair customers, but every bit of it is accessible. As long as you are patient, as you need an attendant to be able to use wheelchair lift. If you don't mind having patience, you will not be disappointed. Our room came with a breakfast buffet on Saturday morning. Attentive staff every step of the way. We were impressed and will be back. Our room was a king with kitchenette. Walk in shower was amazing. Thanks!!

This place has been one of the best hotel experiences we've had.And the entire hotel is updated and designed beautifully, the whole vibe of the place was great.All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.The food we had for supper at the main floor restaurant was delicious, same with the breakfast buffet we had at the basement restaurant,We could not have asked for better

My husband and I both got conjunctivitis(pink eye) after staying here this past weekend! And any attempts to speak to the hotel about this have been ignored! We own our own business and have had to shut down and lost 1000's in revenue!!Disgusting!!! Disgusting behaviour and unclean, unsanitary rooms!!! Think twice about staying here!!Was our favourite hotel! But after not so much as an apology, I will never step foot in here again!! So incredibly hurt and disappointed by the treatment here!!!!

I got a membership back in December and used it pacifically for the gym and pool. I brought my kids there a few times. I have to say the few times we used the pool there was elderly people swimming and they were ignorant. Glaring at myself and my kids, yelling at me because my kids were swimming and having a good time, mumbling under their breath. It’s in a child’s nature to play and laugh and have a good time. We felt so very uncomfortable . I thought the pool was for everybody, and if they didn’t like that my kids were there why didn’t they just leave? Very rude and disrespectful. We shouldn’t have to leave because of it. I will never bring my kids there again. Apparently they’ve never had grandkids and kids and don’t know how to respect others.

Very nice hotel. Mostly clean, but when we got off the elevator, my wife said is this carpet from a horror movie?" The rooms were clean but small. We were given a king accessible room. It was the last king they had. It is not an accessible room!! The door to the room. And bathroom I am guessing at 28 inches

Spent the night due to unforseen circumstances and what a fabulous experience. The booking process as a walking in was hassle free, helpful and friendly. The staff were helpful and accommodating of a special request and the breakfast was great. The room was well laid out and clean and we slept like babies.We will be back.
