After struggling for a while to find the correct alternator for a 1983 Lincoln Continental, I gave Mac’s Auto Electric a phone call regarding rebuild options.It turned out that they had the correct replacement in stock, and even stayed open a bit later so I could purchase it the same day.I installed it that afternoon and it is working great. Discovered this place surfing the web for alternator service and I'm so glad I did. I risked driving there although I could have picked up a charged loaner battery if I had a ride there and back. I made it and parked at about 10:30 am. He was just about to begin replacing the alternator on an old Nissan truck and figured after doing that he would do the same to mine and be done by about 1 pm. Great location to kill time by walking around Bay Street Bridge and downtown Victoria nearby. I returned at 12:45 pm and he almost had my 2002 Ford Ranger ready. $220 for the alternator, 15 for a new belt and 120 for labour. Truck runs like a charm now and the battery gauge is back to reading what is ideal. I would highly recommend this shop for all your alternator, starter and battery needs. Large inventory of those things for most makes on shelves in the front of the shop.

Great store and customer service, both the old and new owners. My car died in the parking lot next to them and they replaced my starter and battery on the spot, for a very reasonable price. Plus honest and courteous service - what else can you ask for? Highly recommended!

We called around trying to find somewhere to get a new battery installed so we could make the ferry in the morning, and Mac's was the only place that said sure - come on in and we'll help you out today!"
