Oilfields General Hospital

I can’t say enough about the quality of care I received at this hospital. Being from another province visiting friends I was in an ATV accident in the foot hills. I was pretty battered and bruised but was taken care of with compassion and tenderness. I would like to give kudos to nurses Kate and Mellisa and Dr Kyle R.

I went here because I was in excruciating pain and I was put into a room, without any pain assistance or anything. I waited 2HOURS OR MORE and no one came to check on me one time. Absolutely insane. I’ve never had this happen at any hospital I’ve ever been to. I will be contacting someone to look at the practices they have in place for their patients. I didn’t find the hospital clean to be the slightest. When I LEFT MY ROOM TO ASK WHY I HAD BEEN THERE FOR TWO HOURS ALL THEY COULD SAY WAS WERE NOT SURE HOW LONG IT WILL BE, MIND YOU THE HOSPITAL WAS EMPTY. THERE WAS 5 CARS IN THE PARKING LOT AND IM SURE THEY WERE JUST THE EMPLOYEES.

Avoid getting care from Eric Jablonski, MD. I dont recommend him whatsoever.He messed up my paperwork after going into Emergency at the hospital. Tried to get it corrected for an accident report (went in because I hit a deer and messed up the right side of my body) and he blamed the nurses at the hospital for doing it incorrectly, yet his name is on the paperwork as the author and editor; and I was also next to him when he was typing it on the computer..The after visit summary paperwork was also wrong, put my reasoning for being in there was upper extremity pain - even though I specified I was in a car accident and that my neck to my hip was messed up from it- but put the diagnosis as being in a MVA; when that was my reasoning for being there in the first place... So my diagnosis for being in a car accident , was that I was in a car accident...I went back to the hospital, then the 3 clinics between Black diamond and Turner Valley to ask him to correct it; his only response is that he already saw me for my Motor Vehicle Accident" .... Dont waste your time and see someone who actually cares about the patients they work on.⭐⭐⭐⭐Reception at the hospital was very helpful and nice with trying to help me get my paperwork corrected

Avoid urgent care here as it takes forever. Lab services here are fairly quick but I'd go to South Calgary Medical Center if you need an xray, you'll be waiting here more than an hr as well.Edit: The new parking lot while definitely needed here, is designed terribly. There is no loop around section at the far side. So if you drive down an aisle and there are no parking spots you have to back up all the way to the entrance. Who thought this was a good idea? Have they never been in a parking lot in their life? Just awful design. Removed 1 star.

When I broke my ankle a few years ago it took them an entire weekend, plus nearly 12 hours in the emergency room for the Doctors to see it was broken, in fact, the X-ray technician said it was broken after taking the X-ray, a Doctor who later preformed my surgery in Calgary was in the middle of a surgery when he saw my X-ray and immediately saw my ankle was broken and call for me to be scheduled for surgery. Black diamond doctors are just... incompetent, perhaps not all, but it shouldn’t have taken them a weekend for them to see it was broken. Don’t go here for emergencies.

Excellent intake. Wonderful nurses. Very good doctor.

My Mum was taken to Emergency , we did wait to see the Dr. But well worth the wait. She received excellent attention and was admitted for treatment. We couldn’t have asked for better care, Thank you everyone.

My mother was brought here and I cannot say enough good things!Everyone has been attentive, pleasant and more than willing to assist. Professionalism at its finest.I see some folks were complaining about wait times in their reviews...yup, sometimes you got to wait. I was waiting for the doctor to give me an update on my mother for three hours...oh, while they were literally saving a man's life in an another room. I think my update wasn't nearly as important.

A bit of a wait, though given current health care climate nothing compared to Calgary. Maybe an hour or two max. Nurses and Dr's listen to you rather than trying to simply shuffle you out the door. I for one appreciate them all, as well as the work the do, and the compassion they bring without fail.

I had an excellent experience in the emergency department here the evening and night of Tuesday, January 24, 2017; that is if you can call a trip to ER excellent! The unit secretary who checked me in and the nurses taking care of me were pleasant and efficient. Dr. Tristan Hemsbroff was quick with the very obvious diagnosis, gentle in exam to not cause more pain, and immediately presented the plan all the while having a very caring demeanor about him.
