My first time henna hair colouring experience was amazing with Gina. I wanted black hair and she was very helpful and thorough with her methods and her advice. I love my results and love the grey coverage that I got. I'm so happy that a healthier alternative to chemical dyes exists (regular dyes killed my hair). Thank you Gina! I reached out to Gina at Henna Hair when due to illness my mom was no longer able to apply my henna for me. Not only is Gina super knowledgeable about henna and its application but she is also adept at understanding how to mix it properly with indigo and other herbs to achieve various shades of auburn, dark brown, etc. She even buys her henna products from the same place in the U.S. that I do (after a LOT of research into henna), that independently lab tests all their organic henna for traces of pesticides.When I arrived at the small salon it had a lovely, comforting, earthy warm and muted smell of henna. It's a very cozy, welcoming space. Gina was kind and super efficient! And she dealt with my unwieldy, super curly hair without missing a beat.All told, the application, which at home will sometimes take me over 45 minutes, took only about 15 minutes! I'm hoping to come back and bring my hair closer to its natural brown, using Gina's expertise with combining indigo, instead of the dark red/auburn I've had for the last 10 years or so.Many of Gina's clients seem to have been going to her for many years, which is what initially gave me the confidence to try out her salon (this too is a testament to her excellent skills and customer service). So, while Whitby may be a little far for some in the GTA, as far as I could find, she is the ONLY trained hair stylist/hair dresser in the entire GTA that has committed to using ONLY natural herbal dyeing products such as henna and indigo, and she knows her stuff!So... if you're committed to healthy products, a healthy lifestyle, and keeping dangerous chemicals out of your hair, off your scalp and out of your system, the drive is worth it. Highly recommend!!Pro tip: if you can't find parking on the street, there is a small municipal parking lot around the corner, behind the salon.

Gina is an amazing person!! She has taught me how to keep my hair healthy with her great products. I’m so happy I don’t need chemical hair dyes anymore and that I have choices. If it wasn’t for Gina’s step by step help, I would have never attempted to even try something different. Gina always answers all my questions and is super friendly and professional. Gina is the absolute best!!

I have purchased hair dye from Henna Hair Salon for several years now. Once you get used to using herb powders to dye your hair it is wonderful! Chemical free, beautiful color that looks good as it grows out. I recommend it for everyone that colors their hair, especially pregnant & nursing women. And the owner is helpful with questions! If you're on the fence I encourage you to try it!

Gina is not only very knowledgeable about henna, she is an excellent teacher on the topic and the application. After a couple trips into the salon, Gina has perfected the formula that gives me the colour I want and the confidence to do it at home. The online service for sales and product delivery is very easy and efficient. So glad I found her! Definitely worth the 45 min drive to Whitby.

Gina is amazing and the products she sells are top notch! She not only does a great job but she will also teach you so you can buy the henna products and try yourself at home. My natural hair colour was not easy to match, but she managed to do it! So happy I found her since conventional dyes were killing my hair!

Amazing!!! The 1-step process really cuts down on my time getting my hair henna'd and I am so grateful that this salon is in my town, so close by. Gina does an amazing job and is super kind. People even travel from out of town for her and this service. 100% worth every penny!

I have been going to Gina's Henna Hair Salon for about 10 years and I love it! She is extremely knowledgeable about natural chemical-free hair colour.Gina uses a mix of high quality henna, indigo, and cassia to make a rich auburn chestnut brown colour that lasts. I love the rich colour of my hair when I leave her salon! The colour is permanent and i go back when the roots grow out.
