So I haven't had a stay at Pinewood Center for some time now but I'm lately considering AGAIN. I can't tell you how many times this heaven sent place with it's heaven sent staff and programs have saved my life.I'd go stay, leave and relapse. Guess what? I could call Pinewood 24 hours after leaving to book for another stay. Unfortunately I've had to do this more times than I'm honestly able to count and everytime my life was saved. I can honestly say that I may not be alive today if it weren't for Pinewood Center Oshawa. I give great praise to this home away from home.Gina Reid.

Pinewood is an Incredible service. It is a very safe and supportive environment, with a lot of resources. The staff are also amazing.

they have an amazing detox center that was clean, supportive and organized.. however they need some work when it comes to their substance abuse cousellors... I found that the staff that i worked with simply had no real life knowledge on substance abuse (which is fine, but they seem to be preaching from a textbook rather than taking the time to listen to paitents on how substance abuse had affected them), they wouldnt talk about certian issues such as death in the family" because they weren't "qualified" to talk about such a subject .. which shocked me because when you are talking to someone about your problems you dont always need someone to have an anwser for you.. sometimes you just want to get something off your chest.. You shouldnt be told what you can and cannot tell them based on their knowledge of the subject. I felt like i was always being rushed to the point where the counsellor was looking at the clock every five minutes... and they would cut me off midsentence as soon as the time was up... I also felt like it was impossible to get a follow up appointment that was within a reasonable time.. they would claim to be booked for months ahead of time which really confuses me because their are so many counsellors there but i dont see so many paitents... and they only have one hour sessions usually once a month with each paitent so i do not understand why they are so busy!?? Most of the cousllors are brand new

I was there 9 yrs ago. I couldn’t have gottenoff the oxy’s and fentanyl without their help.It was the lowest point in my life. I’m alive andclean and sober because of Pinewood

I hit some pretty hard times earlier this year, and I needed a good place to dry out :-) I have to tell you that this center called Pinewood, has the most caring and attentive staff including medical staff for a full detox that I have ever seen or even heard of. The people there, it's quite obvious to me, they don't do this just for the money they do it because they love and care for people. No matter what it is I want to ask the staff I'm always encouraged just to ask because what's the worst I'm going to hear? No? They told me that no is just something I'm going to hear on the way to hearing the word yes. These people including their medical stuff or just excellent, proficient, friendly, and loving. There are two groups per day, 7 days a week and you don't just sit there watching movies. You learn about the most incredible parts of the addiction process, the mental health process and you learn the basics of how to live again properly. I love this place and I love each of the staff that I've met. You really should go there if you have anything you need to work on regarding the substance abuse, mixed with mental health issues like a dual diagnosis, or even alcohol. There are lots of things these days that are legal and accessible to the public, and it's easy to get a little bit out of control in the moment and sometimes it ends up being long-term like it was for me. I spent 30 years trying to get my life together, and this time things felt very different and I grew a whole lot in my time there. They set me up with a place to go after so I could readjust to the public, and you can also have options like going to treatment getting a counselor and a lot more. Call them and find out more. If you ever have anything you need to talk about with any of the issues I spoke about above do not feel any shame or trepidation about calling. There's someone there 24 hours a day and the entire building is literally a center for wellness. I have faith in anybody who wants to do something better with themselves and will take the time to do so. I respect myself a lot more today and I have to say that self-care starts with going to Pinewood
