Lizard Creek Lodge

It was off season so bars and restaurants weren’t open but we almost had the place all to ourselves! We had a two bedroom suite. It was very roomy and quiet. Amazing views and attentive help.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The one bedroom loft was the perfect size for our family with enough space for everyone. The kitchen was very well appointed and we weren't left needing anything. The room was extremely clean and looks to have been recently painted with new furniture. Beds were actually very comfortable! Check in and out was simple and fast. Service was prompt and courteous. There was an issue with not having hot water (these things happen) and it was resolved quickly. I think they are doing their very best given the staff shortages everywhere in the service/hospitality industry. We will be back again!

Great location and views, pool and hot tub are great, and our room was very nice/spacious but dated.We've only been here one day but the major issue was the inexplicable check in process. Hands down the worst I've experienced, even when comparing to a 1 or 2 star property.Such condescending behavior for absolutely no reason.  One example was that WE had to initiate the conversation when we walked in, absolutely no welcome whatsoever, didn't even get up from the seat...made to feel completely like we were a burden...and again that's just walking in the property for the first time, in a town we've never visited and so excited to see.The simple ask of where to park got us a point of a finger to the map and nothing else, no words, as though they were speaking to someone who couldn't understand.When calling the property just 2 weeks prior, we  were told we would have our 3 rooms (there are 12 of us) near each other in the same building.  When we arrived though, we were told that could not be accommodated and another party got the room.Knowing that this was clearly something we were expecting (we had a lot of groceries so that we could all make and have breakfast/lunch together) all that was said was that nothing could be done as the computer booked another party in, and that no one should have told us that the rooms would be together as they can't guarantee that.  Again, knowing this was something we were expecting, there was not one attempt at figuring something else out, such as maybe move the 1 family into where the other 2 would be but in a different room type; not one attempt or let me see what I can try and do whatsoever.Not only that, when the family member who's room was now in another bldg tried to speak, they were continuously interrupted AS they were speaking with I heard you

Worst abuse of corporate greed I’ve ever experienced. After realizing that our trip would be met with travel advisory and extreme cold warning I contacted the resort to try and cancel our trip. I told the resort my wife had just undergone surgery for cancer treatment and did not feel comfortable traveling in those conditions, they advised me that I had missed the cancellation period by a few days and that I either travel or they would charge my credit card anyway. I asked for a bit of a break due to our family situation, our stay was only 2 nights and during the week so not during a busy time but management advised they would not cancel. Be aware before booking this place will kick you when your down with no remorse, I waited to write this review to see if they would actually charge my card and they sure did. $550 was charged to my card. Our stay was good. We had to call and ask for quite a few things as our room slept 8 and there were only 4 towels and not enough coffee mugs and other random things. But staff were quick to grab us everything we requested. The beds were very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were nice and relaxing. Never did try out the bar/restaurant though. Having an underground parking spot was a nice bonus.

We're a couple of international 'Travel Journos' and ski around the globe including BC. We have our favourite large and small resorts and off course a selections of mountains and accommodation we like to spend extra time at. Lizard Creek Lodge and Fernie are on our list of top 3 places we like to ski and stay at. Yes, there are always more challenging slopes and larger Hotels like the LCL, but few of them are placed so convenient and feel soo gemuetlich" (comfortable). The open fire in the bar/dining area is superb

I have had multiple bad experiences with the Lizard Creek Lodge. Multiple times I’ve been turned away from the ice bar because they say it’s not open despite their website and google saying that it’s open. Their excuse is that the website it wrong - horrible experience if you’re driving from out of town. Also have had massages canceled last minute. Terrible service. Not worth your time.

Great place to relax and go for some easy hikes.

While checking in we had issues with services and the amenities. When we raise the issue with the management and the way handled it it was really well done by each staff. I have been worked almost a decade with hospitality management industry and their are very few people those who really take care of their customers. I would highly recommend this lodge as they really take of customers and they treat you really good.

Have stayed here a few times now and enjoy it a lot. Great staff, nice rooms, restaurant and bar on premises is very good!
