Dr. Ian Blumer

I had high expectations of Dr Blumer based on his glowing reviews but if I had to choose 3 words to describe him as an endocrinologist it would be unhelpful, unprofessional and inconsiderate. He failed to provide me with key information regarding the Dexcom G6, he said they were covered but neglected to say that coverage was something I have to apply for and that the application forms required his signature. His failure to provide this information meant that I had to pay for the Dexcom G6 out of pocket, which was $400 and I told him I don’t have medical coverage. Instead of admitting his mistakes and providing me with the correct information on how to get coverage for these sensors, his office informed me that they will no longer be accepting me as their patient. I now have to find a new Endocrinologist to sign the ADP forms which could take me even longer. Dr. Blumer did not have the compassion or consideration to provide me with necessary information and has left me on my own to sort out the ADP application process and to continue to pay for my sensors out of pocket. If you are thinking about having him as your endocrinologist, I highly suggest otherwise. My brief appointments with him left me no more knowledgeable and in fact worse off than I was before.

He is a grate diabetes doctor, I used to flow up with him for several years till we got my square under control, nurses are very nice and cooperative. Appointments times were very reasonable, very clean clinic , easy access parking spots .

An amazing doctor - I am so glad I got him as my specialist - my blood sugar levels are regulated and on track after I started visiting him. Thank you so very much Dr. Blumer - you are a lifesaver!

Very thorough and knowledgeable Specialist in Diabetes. He is easy to deal with, inspires confidence, is current with the very latest research and treatments. Very direct and concise in his answers.

He is so compassionate. Soft spoken and takes his time explaining things to you. He wanted to discharge me because I’m ok now but I gave him a look of ‘what?’ and he agreed to keep me on as his patient for another 2-4 years to monitor me.

Dr Blumer has been my endocrinologist since I was 19. He not only is incredibly knowledgeable and kind - but also is understanding of individual patients and their struggles with having chronic illnesses. So happy he is my doctor - but not looking forward to when he decides to retire!
