Thank you for the amazing warm, friendly hospitality. I ordered the Bakaliaro (Cod fish) for Palm Sunday, the food was delicious. They are a top notch staff who welcomes you with open arms. I'm very impressed how they really do such amazing work. Hard work really shows when you do great things to build a family oriented business. Not easy but very impressive to see the growth. Every single family member sticks together to achieve one goal or multiple goals! To help each other. I will most definitely come again with my son. prices are very reasonable.. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ wish I could give more stars. They deserve 10 stars or more.

For my February foodie adventure, I chose to have dinner at IOS Estiatorio & Wine Bar, located on the Hamilton escarpment on Upper James Street. I lucked out phoning in for a reservation, the hostess said that they were booked, I managed a table for two a half hour later than I originally planned. Not bad.Upon arriving, the parking lot was full, but spots opened in a minute or two. The restaurant itself was warm, with a bright entry way and smiling greeter. We were ushered to our table, right next to a party of twelve celebrating a teacher’s retirement. The seating was crowded, and conversation was difficult with my guest and myself nearly yelling at times to be heard.Once an initial water offering was brought to the table, it was about 20 minutes before our waitress arrived with menus. If you view the menu on their website the prices are about ten dollars more in the restaurant versus the website so be prepared (Since then I have not checked their website to see if it has been corrected). Our waitress returned 15 minutes later to tell us what the feature dishes of the day were, and to take our orders. For Mezedes (appetizer) we ordered Spanakopita. I ordered from the Psari (Seafood) menu, specifically the Lithrini (red snapper) with grilled yellow peppers and zucchini, and an herb seasoned rice (The website showed a price of $40.00, my bill showed $50.00). For purposes of this review, I will only be talking about my order. It took about 45 minutes for appetizers to arrive.Spanakopita should be a lovely golden philo pastry wrapped around a well seasoned mix of feta and spinach. I was disappointed to see that the pastry was dry paper bag brown and burnt on the corners. The filling was perfect after I peeled it open.My main arrived 30 minutes after finishing the appetizer, the snapper was splayed open to show the flesh across the plate. A good mound of the herbed rice was off to the side of the plate. A small bowl of dip sauce sat on the edge of the plate. The grilled veg were brought out on their own large plate. Our table for two was quickly crowded with plates and our drinks. Trying the rice first, I was immediately hit with the most wonderful flavors. An almost buttery savory with a slight kick of spice at the end. Well cooked, not gluggy. The snapper was underwhelming. I started from the center and worked my way out from moist, perfectly cooked flesh to dry, and in some places over cooked flesh. The flavor was there, the texture was the let down. I tried the sauce and was repulsed by the overwhelming taste of olive oil that was either on the edge of going bad or poorly seasoned. With dinner completed, I asked for the dessert (Glyka) menu. I have a nut allergy and five of the seven desserts have walnuts in them. I was going to order the Bougatsa, a phyllo pastry filled with custard, but our waitress informed us of the dessert special of the day. Chocolate Cream Mousse cake, if you are looking for a decadent, moist, perfectly flavored chocolate mousse cake, look no further. This was the highlight of the night. A generous portion with a dollop of whipped cream on the side.Overall, an expensive dinner for a slightly above average offering. The noise and crowded environment do not make for an intimate evening. The staff were friendly and polite, which helps make up for the length of time from start to finish. I would not go back unless it was for a very special occasion, and I was not paying the bill. I give them 3 stars out of 5.

Huge Portions at the event I attended. Next time I’m trying the Steak. The Gyro comes out a little different. Like pulled pork. Huge pieces of Feta on the salad. My second favourite Greek place in the GHA.

$26 for the gyro, or the souvlaki, we got the gyro it's more like a pulled pork then slices of meat. it doesn't say fries on the menu for an option but they do offer it as a choice. For the price you get a good portion of food enough for 2 people for sure. Food was good service was good, waited a bit long to get the food but it was busy and we had 5 people

Everything we ordered was delicious! The portions are huge, and you will definitely have leftovers - which is great. The price is fair, you would not get nearly half of the amount of food paying this much in other places. Our waiter was nice and kind. He gave us a piece of cake (delicious) because we told him it was my birthday - we did not ask for it!It became one of my favorite places to eat :)

What an amazing find! My wife and I were passing by and based on the reviews stopped into IOS Restaurant. We were quickly seated and the staff were all smiles! They explained the menu and specials and brought us out our appetizers quickly. Their spicy feta dip was amazing! We had the grilled octopus! It is something we try at Greek restaurants every time we go. This was honestly the best we ever had! They said it is flown in fresh... And you could tell. Grilled perfectly, it wasn't rubbery at all. Fantastic!Their gyro is a little different than typical... They do a Greek pulled pork for the filling. It was so soft and moist... And enough meat for two gyros! Amazing and juicy. The pork souvlaki was soft and flavoured perfectly. It was matched with a Greek salad that had real olives and a huge peice of real feta on top (not that grated dry salty stuff you often get on Greek salads). We skipped desert because we saw that they expanded and opened a Greek Bakery and Market. So we headed over there! OMG! it was like being at a bakery in Athens. See bakery review...Great place! So happy we found it! Will be back again very soon! Don't hesitate to try it, you won't be disappointed.

Service and atmosphere is fine, but ordered my favourite Greek food gyro meat and got a big helping of pulled pork, which I’m not a big fan. Please stop calling it gyro, false advertising to me. The Greek salad and lemon potatoes were delicious.

IOS is the best Greek restaurant I have been too and it’s a gem that we have this in hamilton. Simply put if you want an experience this place is it.The clientele, staff and cleanliness of the restaurant is excellent. You are greeted warmly when you arrive and when you leave. Overall the customer experience is incredible. This is a true family restaurant. There is always staff available to refill your water or take away your plates. You’re not looking around wondering when you’ll be served. It just happens perfectly. Staff interact with you and are delightful and patient.Let’s get to the food. The steak, lamb and chicken were cooked to temp perfectly. Veggies were beautifully done and the salads were generous with excellent ingredients. You will be taking home part of your meal as the portions are generous. We didn’t have the gyro this time but is completely authentic compared to any of the other restaurants I have been to. The specials for the day are definitely a must and that’s what the steak (pictured) was at the time of this writing. They also offer lots of gluten free food as they use whole ingredients and not pre-made items. They have an excellent Greek wine list with bottles not available in the LCBO. Try them out!Overall IOS is definitely worth going to and one of the best in hamilton. We can’t wait to go back.
