Alberta Theatre Projects

I went to see “Alberta Kitchen Party” here with my family and truly the only word I can use to describe it is beautiful. Before coming to watch, me and my family were pretty disconnected when it came to a love of theatre. This show literally made me cry 4 times, even though it’s so upbeat haha, because I could just see how much they enjoyed it for the first time too. If the actors ever see this, I just want to let you guys know that you blew us all away. You both inspired me to go into, and reminded me of the fact that theatre is a wonderful place of connection and creativity and love. So thank you endlessly, and keep up the incredible work that you all do.

We came to a puppet show and not involved the show but absinthe intimate environment to view such a great spectacle. There's not a bad seat in the house.

ATP makes for a great evening out. The venue and staff are excellent and the plays are creative, unique and (almost!) always entertaining.

I have purchased season tickets for the past 3 years and will continue to do so. The quality of the shows are fantastic, the performers never cease to amaze.

Received ticket as a gift from a friend. Really enjoyed it. The cast is unbelievably talented. Will definitely attend again/ recommend go to others.

I've been a season subscriber to ATP for 20+ years, and in all that time there have been maybe 2 or 3 productions which I haven't enjoyed, or at least appreciated on some level. Their plays are generally new or newish (often local or even world premieres) and tend to be a little edgier than Theatre Calgary's offerings, though not as avant-garde as, say, One Yellow Rabbit.

Wow...that season ended with a big bang ! Glory, based on a Canadian story about hockey ( not surprised yet eh ) Ladies hockey ! It was quite a great ride just on the surface, the backdrop was the depression, job scarcity, the windup to WW2, anti-Semitic, pay equality,the olympics, sexism , violence in sport and so much more !! Yes, Theatre in Calgary can certainly spark a thought or two. Or, if you like....it can just entertain the heck out of you ! Thanks ATP for another interesting season, Cheers !

My favourite theatre company in the city. Fewer generic, run of the mill productions than the other major theatres in town. I would like to see a little more avant garde, risk-taking, rather than moving to attract the masses with banal shows - everyone else is doing that and theatre in the city is getting dumbed down and boring. I love the physical space!

We saw Stealing Sam in a cabaret configuration. Enjoyed the show, greatly appreciated being back in the theatre and appreciate all the precautions to keep people safe.
