Riverwood Inn

The best accommodation so far... feels luxurious, is luxurious without breaking the bank

We were so happy to arrive at Riverwood Inn to see how clean and lovely the whole place is. There is a simple check-in process, which we loved. Our room was called the Riverview Room. It was huge and included a shower and soaker tub. We had our own balcony overlooking the quiet river. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable; we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere – so happy we picked this place. Make this a stop along the way in your travels in Newfoundland!

First rate we'll appointed hotel/Inn.Located on the banks of a local river, the facility offers comfortable spacious rooms. It is very quite with ample parking. Stay there whenever I am in town. Never disappointed.

Not sure how this place got good reviews. Only thing good was view. When we got there place looked great from outside and lobby. Got in are room and 1 of 2 blind broke, 1 of the 2 beds broke. Big plaster chips out of wall, lots if plumbing issue had to turn cold water on to get hot. No toilet paper in are room when got there had to search hotel to find some because no workers on hand. Than would have to wait hour if needed anything becsuse workers would have to come in from there house it made me feel like i was putting them out of there way. After are first night wanted to leave with but worker talked me into stating with upgraded room. Was not upgrade. Room hadnt been cleaned dust everywhere, the only thing that was an upgrade was a jacuzzi that couldnt use. Filked water and when turned jets on water turned yellow. Het had never been cleaned only surface of tub. The deck than was in the back wasnt safe to be on either lots of soft spots and could even see lots of the screws falling out. Wont every go back to this place. To run down and dirty. Almost forgot no support in bed need a box spring or flat surface under mattress whole family has had bad back since staying there.

A very nice little spot, right on the river. Very comfortable and the staff were very helpful. WiFi was a bit slow and didn't stay connected well.

I decided to stay at Riverwood Inn after I read a newspaper article (Globa and Mail) about this place.Check-In Process 3/5Even though a self-check in process has been informed through a text message, I had little difficult time. Also, I found that I was charged 2-nights even though my stay was for only 1-night. This has been corrected quickly through talking to the owner.Cleaness and Comfort 4/5Very clean room with a great bed & bed liner. The size of the room was more than sufficient.Location 4/5It is on the riverside as its name says. I enjoyed watching a fantastic Milkyway in the midnight.

The facility is ideally located beside a river with a very nice walking trail close by that follows the river for over 5 kms. The room we had was clean, large and very well equipped with a balcony overlooking the river. I was impressed with the facility itself BUT the WIFI service never worked and there is no dining on site beyond a coffee pot in the room and a BBQ behind the building, that despite the fact the website lists a free breakfast as being included in the price. I stayed for two nights and called about the lack of wifi connectivity, meaning I could not work on site using computer, but the problem was never corrected. The lack of dining facilities is a problem overall because the town of Springdale too is poorly served by restaurants. There are two main restaurants, both Chinese, but they appeared to be open at random hours and days. We stopped into one other diner in the area at 5 pm one day only to be told the dining room closed at 4 pm. There were two coffee/ donut shops, Tim Hortons and Robins, side by side in town but service at both was terribly slow. So while the Riverwood Inn is beautiful and comfortable with good cell service, the lack of a working Wifi makes working from there on computer very challenging and the area itself is not oriented to providing good, convenient, service to travellers. Be prepared to bring your own food if you stay here or be prepared for frustration if trying to find good dining and good service in town beyond a Mary Brown's or Wingin It.

Great view from every room and a decent breakfast. Heating was broken in my room so they offered to upgrade me when they found out

Heater didn't shut down at desired temperature. Perfect room. Nice view, can only imagine what it would be like in the summer time

My husband and I stayed for two nights because of a family tragedy.We were treated with exceptional kindness and sensitivity.We cannot thank the management and staff enough for the comfort of a beautiful suite during a very difficult time!We hope to visit at another time when we can enjoy the beautiful surroundings!Thank you again!!
