I've played in the Average Joe's Mississauga Basketball League for 3-4 seasons now and overall I'm quite disappointed.2 games this season we've had to play at a king's court where there is effectively no sideline (too small) and the adjacent court is playing volleyball where balls are flying onto your court, during a league game! It felt like we were paying $288 PER PLAYER (plus jerseys) to play pickup basketball. One of these games there was no stat keeper that showed up so stats were unavailable for the game. Got nothing but a sorry for that. What are we paying for exactly? To continue on with stat keeping, you may as well assume this league does not keep stats. I have played basketball for over 20 years and this is bar none the worst stat keeping I have ever experienced. Stat keepers are routinely on their phones, and have no interest in accurately keeping stats. Points are often wrong, assists and rebounds are not even counted half the time (there was a game where we apparently had ONE assist all game, despite putting up something like 70 points, completely inaccurate). I'm not sure who's to blame but I don't think they are trained on stats at all, let alone appropriately familiar with the game of basketball.I used to run a league for 7+ years in Durham, and we had volunteer, unpaid stat keepers that did a better job. The reality is that we play in leagues for that league experience like healthy competition, stats, reffing etc (I won't complain about reffing because everybody complains about reffing). Also the only league I've played in where you can tie in a basketball game. How about a 2 minute overtime before a tie? You can squeeze that in. Heck game it with a quick free throw battle. Basketball should not end in a tie.I will say the one thing I do like are the teams we've played against. Good competition and comradery. It's the only reason I've kept joining. My entire team feels the same overall disappointment as do many other teams I've spoken to in the league. Unfortunately there aren't many alternatives in the area so we get stuck having to play in this league.Fingers crossed that the quality of the league goes way up.

Took part in the Mississauga Winter Co-ed Indoor Turf Soccer league and had a blast! I signed up for an indies team along with two other friends and made more friends in the process. It was my first rec league, but everyone on the team was super supportive. Games took place on Tuesday evenings, alternating between Mentor College and Paramount Fine Foods Centre. The league website is quite well designed, making it easy to track your team's schedule and league position. Kick-off times could have been a bit earlier in the evening, but otherwise this was a great experience and I will be signing up for the spring league.

Fairly well run league with lots of options both as team sign up and as an individual. Playoff format and team winning prizes could be a bit more enticing but still fun nonetheless.Happy to have found a fun, competitive and generally option to play!

I have played recreational and intermediate volleyball through Average Joe's with my husband for a few years and it has always been a great experience. The staff is very responsive and communicates well. We have had tons of fun and have met a lot of people. We will definitely continue registering with them in the future!

Average Joe Sports Club is a great choice for co-ed soccer. The winter league was well-organized, competitive, and fun. Looking forward to signing up for the spring league and highly recommend!

I just signed up for an intermediate league for my first time ever with this company. After noticing they combined indie and rec together with no notice, they refused to refund me or let me switch to another intermediate only evening. They stopped answering my emails and told me to just show up. I understand the league is for fun but I choose to play with other players of the same skill. The teams were unbalanced in terms of gender and female heavy which could lead to domination vs make heavy teams. I chose to forfeit my spot and will not be using this sports league again.

Incredible company that brings together people & athletes that range from all skill levels. Truly enjoyed the leagues I've played in, what separates them from other adult rec leagues is the variety of sports & activities that we can choose from. Highly recommend. In extension their basketball division in Mississauga had great competition!

Played basketball in this league a few years ago and really enjoyed the experience!!However, this spring I joined as an independent for the Competitive volleyball league. There was only one Comp league so I signed up and paid. It was 30 minutes each way. A few days before the league started, I noticed that I was put on a team in the Intermediate league. I immediately followed up with the convenor who said they didn't have enough people for comp, so just automatically switched me to Int. (there is no refund, and this is written in their rules that they can do this). I showed up giving them the benefit of the doubt, but realized there were a few others disgruntled as well. I felt like I had to lead and coach the team, and the opposing team was more of a rec level. I talked to 2 players who didn't get into their basketball league (again, not enough numbers), and chose vball as a backup (no experience at all).I was thoroughly disappointed and followed up with the convenor. Still no refund, but a credit. Not impressed. Would have preferred the option" of going to intermediate

Burlington ball hockey is poorly managed, and very aggressive. The facilities and equipment they use are poor in quality. Nice attempt but the fun is taken away by the lack of proper governing and abuse from other teams.
