This garden outside the Leaf building is free to visit. Nice to walk or sit around. Great for photoshoots. Aside from flowers, there is also an area dedicated to vegetables/fruits. I'm not a garden enthusiast but I would expect this is a can't miss for them.

Very nice gardens, very different than the English Garden. Many plants are labeled. However, they missed an opportunity to educate. I would have loved to know which are annuals and perennials, which need shade, most importantly which are hardy in our area.

An amazing building structure with an indoor park-like space with a great selection of plants beautifully arranged with walking paths and sitting areas. It has a very warm atmosphere in there so you may want to dress lighter when visiting, but there is a cloak room for your coats. There is also a coffee bar and a restaurant in the complex. We went to the coffee bar, it was very busy, but service was good and my London Fog was great. We had a wonderful time wondering through the greenery and enjoyed seeing many new species of plants as well as many familiar plants. The butterfly gardens and the koi pond are nice features and were quite enjoyable to watch as well. I was impressed by and loved the massive “living wall” of plants in the Mediterranean biome. The waterfall was also a nice added feature and is quite impressive, but I would have liked to see a natural looking waterfall in this tropical park setting instead. It took us not more than two hours to tour around and read up on the various plants, but then we didn’t stop to rest or eat. All in all it was a pleasant experience and a real treat or retreat in our cold winters. I feel it is worthwhile to visit at least one time, if not more, to have an occasional escape from the cold. All the staff we encountered and chatted with were informative and friendly as well. The $15.00 entry fee I feel is a bit much. The $80.00 membership is reasonable if you live in the city and wish to visit more often, but we were only visiting.

Beautiful! The plants are all gorgeous and I love that many are labeled. Next time I go I plan on checking out the restaurant. There is a place to leave your coat, not locked or anything but seems to be pretty safe. I do recommend buying tickets in advance. We didn't and had to wait over an hour to get in and there's not much to do to kill time.

Took some time to visit the new botanical gardens while visiting Winnipeg. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, so the place was busy. There was not a long wait to get in. They have seniors' pricing, which is nice. There is no rush to get through the gardens, but the wait in line to take the elevator up to the top and the butterfly garden was about 20 minutes. A great place to visit on a rainy cool day, and at any time of the year. Will be back for another visit next time we are in Winnipeg.

Visited February 2023Quite humid inside; I recommend bringing summer wear if you can and change in the washrooms, and leave your winter jacket in the coat room. I had expected the Leaf to be bigger, but it looks like it only has the 2 major sections (tropical and Mediterranean) plus the butterfly garden on the 3rd level. We spent 1 hour in total to see everything the place has to offer. As someone who used to live in a tropical country, it was a treat to see the tropical plants and trees, some of them we had in our backyard and garden. It would be nice to see once the flowers bloom and the trees bear fruits.Did I mention it was humid? Bring water even if you’re not going to be spending a lot of time inside.

Pretty to look at, but...Great architecture. Plants improving. A difficult truth is that they demolished the free, existing conservatory, which was used by countless seniors and many others during our extremely long, cold winters. After using extensive tax-dollar funding (and private sources) to build The Leaf"
