Riedstras is the best place around to buy stringed instruments. Quentin helped me with purchasing my cello, and he was very knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions. I felt I was in no way swayed to purchase the more expensive model, and I never even felt urged to make a purchase that day. They were very honest with their recommendations and answers, and you can tell they value customer service over sales. The prices at Reidstras are also very competitive. I noticed that some cellos such as the Eastman models are more affordable at Riedstra's than at chain stores. Plus, they do all the set-up work and consultation which you wouldn't receive at as much from a chain store. I would not hesitate to buy from them again. Thank you!

Well, what a treasure this shop is. Go on a Saturday to get Mr Reidstra's expert advice on anything and everything you could ever wish to know about the instrument you own or want to own. Rarely do you come across any business these days that is more interested in helping the customer than making money out of them, but Reidstra's Violin Shop is a fine example of just that. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

I went there to buy strings for my violin. Linda was very knowledgeable and helped me get the right strings for my instrument. As a beginner I wasn't sure what to get, but the explained the differences. Very nice customer service!

I bought my violin from this shop about 4 years ago and I had an excellent experience. What brought me in this week was a chin/shoulder rest problem. My violin wasn't sitting right and felt uncomfortable, and Quentin took the time to help me find a position that fit my shoulder and felt comfortable. With his help, I found a chin and shoulder rest that have greatly improved my level of comfort while playing.I didn't feel pressured to buy the more expensive options at any point and everyone in the store was very helpful and honest with me. I have lived in Quebec, British Columbia, and Ontario, and I've never had such a great experience as with Riedstra's.

I found the customer service at this shop second to none! I went in with an old violin that I purchased at an antique market hoping to not be too embarrassed by bringing it there. On the contrary, the shop owners made me feel so welcome and were so willing to help me. I'm an adult beginner so my experience with the violin is very limited. The repairs and adjustments to this old fiddle and bow were very reasonably priced and were just what I needed to get myself started. I've been practicing like crazy and hopefully I'll be able, in due time, to go back and buy a better instrument from them so that I can move on to the next level that a professional instrument would encourage. They made me feel so welcome and I cannot say enough good things about them. Thanks Quentin for the professional setup. Mike B, New Credit.
