The newest conservation park in Halton. We had a good experience highlighted by our interaction with the park employees. A beautiful lake and hoping to see how it changes in the future. Great for a short visit.

Nice and peaceful small lake, it is a good new addition to the existing conservation parks with potentials. Would like to see more hiking trails developed and facility upgraded in the near future.

So peaceful here. Go with those who enjoy nature. Well graded path around the lake, easy walk for those who need a smooth path. Even the Port a potties were clean and regularly serviced.

Mixed feelings about Area 8, it has potential, but for me I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. Not that its horrible or anything of the sorts, but if you're like me, an avid hiker/trailer/birder you may want to wait and see if the park becomes more, interesting. Just because the trail is somewhat short (just under 3km) and it seems to be geared up for locals who want a super easy stroll.Right now the path is just around the lake, which is pretty, but again it really doesn't lead anywhere. Once you enter the park, at the parking, you've seen everything it has to offer. There's no real need to walk around really. Hopefully down the road the trail extensions will make it more interesting. Maybe blend it in with Kelso? Its a new place so wild life was pretty simple, finches and such, but there's a local airport just off to the side as smaller propeller planes fly low overheard very often. So that's going to be an issue for Birders.Time will tell, but I really do appreciate the turning of old quarries/vacant land into more useful spaces for wildlife. That can never be enough!!!Lets see what the future is in store for this place. Until then if you want a very simple walk that's under 3k, then you'll be fine with it.

As great as the small trail is, there was a lot of confusion about whether or not cars were allowed on the road surrounding the body of water. There is absolutely no signage prohibiting cars, and there were multiple cars parked in various locations around the water. We got rudely told off by a group of people who said it wasn't for cars. I would highly suggest putting up clear signage if this is the case.

Great little place that just opened to the public! Short hike perfect for families with younger children. It was around 3km around the lake.* You still need to book your time via the conservation Halton website.
