Highroads Medical Clinics (NOT A WALK IN CLINIC)

I can't understand the negative reviews.. the fact that this staff deals with sick, stressed people in pain all day every day and do so with with compassion and empathy is nothing short of heroic. I was looked after on very short notice for a serious matter and the kindness and compassion of Dr Cloete was and is most appreciated. Five emphatic stars from me for the staff and doctors.

Seeking new family doctor, Dealt with Verster for years. After reading the benefits of having a family doctor and the extra time and care they should be taking interest in your person's and health. I don't think I've ever had more than 5 min in a room with him on seriously painful issues I've had. 2 yrs of extreme suffering in my back and all he could ever say is nothing can be done. No one will do anything for you. So i took it upon myself. Found a doctor in Salmon arm that specializes in back pain. This required Verster to refer him. Verster got upset with this, THREW HIS PEN AT THE WALL, and mumbled that he never even heard of this doctor. However he had to sign off. I've been pain free for 2yrs now with a single visit per year for a simple cortisone shot. Even my chiropractor questioned his diagnosis of a 3week Headache ive had because he never checked my blood pressure for it. For a family doctor of 7ish yrs.... Hes never checked my blood pressure. Might want to consider this. Shirley was an amazing person will miss her.

Absolutely love my doctor, but if you are going to turn the office phones off all day, you should set up online booking! I have been trying to make an appointment for over a week..

Brutal ! I came in with a 1.5 year old with a bad cough . Because I came in 8 minutes before closing she said : (very rudely) we can’t take anymore people and that I can go to urgent care. She did it so quick almost like she wanted to get out to go party or something . Meanwhile I had a sick child in my arms . It would have been a very quick look. While I understand people need their time off . but you also should have some compassion for your fellow person let alone a cute little 1.5 year old girl . They need to train their staff compassion or at least what to say when they see a concerned parent with a sick child . Not good . Even when I asked her name she would only give me a “Cat “ (as her name ) like she has had this happen before . Poor poor poor . Go have a good time on your long weekend Cat and know that your level of compassion needs improvement . You could have said something like I’m so sorry I have strict rules or some sense of care . We need more walk in clinics in west Kelowna and if we had one with staff and doctors with compassion that facility would do very well ! I never complain but highlands medical you really riled up a concerned father on this one !

Worst clinic there is. The front staff walk away knstesd of talking to you. They speak very loudly about your private medical business in the front waiting room. Ask you personal medical questions loudly. They are ignorant and disrecptful. You can hear them bad mouthing other patience and on top of that if you make a scheduled appointment you can wait upwards of 1 and a half hours. What the hell kind of clinic is this when my own family doctor appointment takes that long? Took me over 3 weeks to wait this long wth is going on here. Find somewhere else I know I will be.

Do not count on them for birth control!!! Was told over the phone they'd sign my prescription off so I could pick up in kelowna, but they neglected to do so on the day I need the birth control so I am left to drive from kelowna to westbank to pickup an emergency prescription from the pharmacist, or I get pregnant. Definitely not reliable.

Wow, I am shocked at the negative comments concerning High Roads Medical Clinic.I have been a patient of Dr. Wanneburg for almost 4 years and he is easily one of the best doctors I have had the pleasure to be cared for by. I cannot remember waiting for more than just a few days in order to get an appointment. He always treats me very professionally and provides excellent service. Furthermore, I have never experienced any negative issues with the Front Desk Staff. They go out of their way to forward prescriptions to the pharmacy of my choice and always have medical documents ready for me to pick up upon request.I am so thankful to Dr. Wanneburg and Staff for the hard work and dedicated professional service that I receive at High Roads Medical Clinic. Thank-you, thank-you!

Been working with a doctor here for 8 months regarding an ongoing blood work issue, called to make a check up appointment and was told I was no longer welcome because he wasn't my family doctor. It's been 8 months with this same doctor on this issue and now I have to just go somewhere else...... Great customer service

Kelowna area has had a shortage of family doctors for quite awhile. I am delighted that I found an excellent doctor at Highroads Medical. Over the 7 plus years I have been going to this clinic , getting an appointment in a timely manner has been difficult. If the issue is urgent however I have never been disappointed as every effort to accommodate is prioritized.
