Take Five Café
Owner let me know there was a 30 minute per drink rule in his establishment when ordering because I mentioned it was a nice quiet place to study. There was lots of room to sit.I got down to work on my lap top with my coffee. As the owner left, instead of asking if I wanted anything else (I had lost track of time and it was probably 45 minutes I’d been sitting), he pointed at his watch & reminded me that there was a 30 minute per drink rule for sitting in the cafe. My coffee was half finished & there was only one other person sitting in the shop, but I WAS committing an infraction of the 30 minute rule.Slammed my lap top shut immediately—I had planned to order lunch but I don’t feel like they want my business!***Edited to add that if the owner has camera footage of me becoming “extremely angry” & the “others around” (only one other man was there, and he was two tables back), they are welcome to edit their reply with a YouTube link to back it up.***

Went there this morning at 8:02. Cafe was dark and no one was even inside setting up despite their sign/website saying they open at 8. This is not the first time this had happened. It takes time to set up and brew coffee. There was another gentleman waiting for you to open too. 10/15 mins later on our way back from Waves you were still not open. The gentleman was still waiting and we watched a lady pull up, walk around construction and get back into her car. Either update your website/storefront hours or find competent employees to arrive and be ready and open for the time you advertise. Again not the first time but it will be the last because we will never return.

Tried this place out recently, I got a iced vanilla latte. The drink was standard but the price was a bit high I think. I got charged extra (95c each) for the vanilla and extra for the coconut milk so it came out to about $7 for a medium. An iced vanilla latte is a pretty basic drink I think, you feel kinda stupid paying $2 on top of the cost of 2 espresso shots and normal milk for flavouring and coconut milk. I used to frequent this Starbucks location, but don't see much reason to change up to come here still.

I have been a fan of Take Five Cafe since 2014 when I took my first sip at New Westminster branch. So excited that a new branch has opened at Port Coquitlam (near me :). Unquestionably, the best coffee shop in the area! The atmosphere inside this coffee shop was very vibrant and relaxing. I will definitely rate them a five-star for everything that they provided. Gary's latte is truly amazing! Thank you so much, guys!

Wow - what an improvement! Take 5 cafe opening in the old City Hall Starbucks is a fantastic addition to the downtown Poco community. What used to be a very dark Starbucks has turned into a bright and welcoming local Cafe. Coffee is excellent, breakfast wrap was pretty decent.

Owner asked us to leave despite spending $15 on 2 coffees.... because i had a donut from around the corner. I guess $15 for overpriced coffee isnt good enough for 5 min of peace.Btw. We were the only customers in there.So sad.

Disappointing - I want to buy local whenever possible but unfortunately my experience in a lot of cases just simply falls way too short...like it did at Take Five Cafe in Poco. For starters, $6.20 for a medium (12 oz.) mocha with almond milk definitely didn't leave me feeling like I was receiving much in the way of value. The fact that it was lukewarm when I asked for extra hot didn't help much either. Unfortunately, it was my first and last time giving this establishment my business and I will continue to give my business to Starbucks because I know I can count on them for their solid product offerings, good value for my money, consistent product experience, unmatched customer ordering experience, abundance of locations and to top it all off, being rewarded for giving them my business.

I would probably say that this coffee shop is a must for coffee lovers! The service is amazing and so tailored to individual customer! The variety of coffee served in the ambiance was very satisfying. I was struck by how friendly the service was. Hot beverage and season’s specials were amazing! If you are looking for your local to go coffee place this will surely be the one! Just walk by one evening and see!

$5.62 for a large coffee and fresh muffin is a good deal. The staff are friendly, the cafe is clean, and has lots of options. I'm happy they replaced Starbucks. Also shout out for having an accessible entrance, unlike another local coffee shop.
