As a current student I absolutely love the school! I've made great friends who I genuinely treasure. The teachers and overall school environment pushes me to try harder and focus on my studies. The school also has lots clubs for students to enjoy and put on our resumes. 10/10 would recommend!

Although my parents really wanted me to go here, they let me make the final decision and I chose to come to HNM. I wanted a fresh start and really valued that this is a small school with a great community. I understand that’s not for everyone, but a small school means you know everyone in your grade and everyone in your grade knows you!Now at HNM I’m a grade 12 student and I’m graduating in less than two weeks. The past four years have been amazing at this school. The sense of community that exists here is hard to find else where. At this school I’ve made amazing friends, learned a lot, joined tons of clubs, been on student council, met some of the most amazing teachers and staff, and more. I’ve been supported throughout my time at HNM and I’m so grateful to my family, friends and the really kind staff & teachers at HNM who are so instrumental in my growth. Of course high school during the pandemic was challenging, but I have never felt like I didn’t have someone to talk to at this school.If you’re going to Holy Name, my advice to you is:- Be authentically you! At HNM individuality matters & you are bound to find others who have similar interests and values!- Get involved! Join clubs/ teams that interest you (or start one of your own)and be dedicated!- Your high school experience is what YOU make of it at the end of the day! Put effort into things like doing your HW, getting to know people, and growing as an individual.- Be respectful, friendly, and approachable! Surround yourself with people who are going to bring out the best in you (and do the same for them), not those who are always trying to start drama or don’t make you feel valued.And hey, if you’re being forced to come here, I’m sorry that you’re in that position, because I believe ultimately YOU should make that final decision. However, if this is where you’re going to be for four years, make it meaningful! Best of luck for all your future endeavours and I hope this was helpful!

This school is literally horrible. If ur thinking of sending ur child to this school u are better off any where else to be honest. As a person who’s graduating from this school I can say that from my personal experience I would never send my kid here. Some of the staff members are just arrogant and rude for no reason. I asked someone from guidance to print out my schedule on the first week of school and she replied with “I can’t do every little thing for u students”….like jeez it’s ur job. Not only that, some teachers can’t even teach like where did u pick them from…? Kijiji? It’s honestly shocking how this school is still running

If I had to choose between garbage and this school then I would choose garbage. The teachers are extremely rude. Teachers are super mean and don't understand students and mentally torture them, especially Ms. Musial. She is extremely mean and doesn't help out the students. She is biased!! This school has less teachers thats why they ignore how some teachers are mean. Many teachers at this school are biased and once a teacher failed all the grade 12 students!! This school is a whole mess. If you're reading this then I highly recommend to go to some other school. Teachers fail you if you don't complete quizzes on time as it is a student's right to ask for 5 more minutes. If you're at hnm and have gone through something like failing a test because you submitted it 2 minutes after the deadline then I'm really sorry. Also, not all teachers are bad. Some teachers are extremely nice, caring and loving like Ms. Swannell.

Me and my friends went out to eat lunch, when we were trying to get back into the school, a teacher opened the door and told you can’t come in and walk all the way around the school to the front. When we when to the front the office lady told us “ you can’t come in until the bell rings”. We were puzzled and standing in the cold until the bell rang. Another time when a teacher let us in another one told us to get out and walk to the front.

My art teacher in gr 9 was super rude and she use to mark so hard on assignments. I would always put so much effort in my work but she always give me low marks. Apart from this, my gr 9 science teacher was mean as well. When I told her I’m going to india for one month she was like you’re going to miss a lot from this class. I suggest you don’t go at all. But I still went because my family planned it and I couldn’t say no. She said I hav to do the test for biology when I come back or else I’ll fail the class. So when I came back from India, she made me do the test and it was so hard. When I got my result I actually ended up failing because I barely had time to study there.

The staff behaviour towards visitors is beyond disgusting. They don’t even let you in like what the actual hell and we asked the office staff for some important documents and this fat and old lady didn’t even let us in. It’s been 3 weeks and we still haven’t gotten the important documents we requested for. These people really need to learn how to respect visitors and value time!! I hope we get our important documents asap and no one gets treated the way we got treated! Also, the board directors really need to talk to the staff regarding their lack of responsibility and attitude towards visitors.

Teaching here for 19 years and it is a wonderful place to learn and experience high school. High academic record and great spirit events! If I had a daughter I would be sending her to HNM!
