Disappointing experience. The door was locked and the person just stood there looking at me…eventually, I indicated that I’d like to enter and he said, “Mask?” I pointed to the sign on their door and said, “Your sign says that you’ll provide me with one.”When I finally got in, I asked if they had a specific comic that I was looking for. He took a cursory look in a bin and said that they didn’t have it and went about his business.I found the issue that I was looking for (in the bin where he “looked”). Long story short, I dropped about 80 dollars in a business that is being run by folks who act like they’re doing me a favour by selling me comics. Judging by their replies to poor reviews on this page, they really don’t GAF about how their customers feel.On the bright side an hour later I visited Monster Comics on Gottingen Street; they were extremely helpful and they also seemed very happy to have my business. Night and day.

Rude employees and cost way too much. Force customers to wear mask even if COVID is over for 2 years

I recently moved to Nova Scotia from another province and one thing I have noticed is how kind all my fellow citizens are. I mention this because it stands in stark contrast to my experience at Strange Adventures, and why I will never shop there again nor recommend it to anyone I meet. The first employee I met at the door was rude and abrasive, but I shrugged it off as a misunderstanding. When he “offered help”, he couldn’t hide the condescension in his answers, even though he had no way of knowing if I was new to comic books or a seasoned fan. Even this I would have ignored, but as I cashed out at the front, I could hear him being further antagonistic towards other potential customers entering the store.Imagine if you will Jeff Albertson (Comic Book Guy) from the Simpson made flesh and blood. However, rather than having the charm and wit of a talented team of TV writers, he had only years of embittered disillusionment for his career that metastasized into a personality that repels customers.I feel vindicated by other reviews I have seen that confirm just how unwelcoming that one employee is. I wish I could support this local comic shop, which caters to so many of my fandoms, but I never will again.

Just a lovely little store full of countless wonders and knowledgable staff. Its hard to overstate the importance of Strange Adventures on Halifax's geek community as well, an absolute icon of the city. There's a part of me that will always miss the hidden little hobbit hole that was the original location but I can't hit my head entering here so it's a worthy upgrade.Love to see a business stick up for the countless folks who are still living in a pandemic that never ended by enforcing a strict mask policy.

Unwelcoming environment, not much of a comic guy but i have been wanting to check the place out for awhile but was never able to till the other day, just kind of an unkind space. Embarrassed i brought my friends cause they were all uncomfortable. Cool stuff but its not accessible for physical disabilities and just not worth it for me anymore with all things considered :(

They have lots of stuff to look at. Good figures too. Lots of mini ones if that’s what you are into. A little weird they keep the door locked and make you wear a mask….. the man working was not very friendly

Paid a visit to the Prince Street location while visiting Halifax. What an amazing shop! Huge selection of titles and a ton of other cool merch as well. Calum was incredibly helpful and welcoming. 10/10 recommend checking out this shop when in town.

A great place to lose yourself in all things comic and anime related. Lots of unique items for gift giving for your favorite nerd! Please be aware that masks are required in the store but they can provide you one if you forgot yours. Ask about local events as the staff and store are very connected to the community.
