This place is truly awful. We’ve been there a handful of times and we won’t be returning. It doesn’t matter that we’re not your target audience and that you mainly work with contractors. You need to treat everyone with kindness, respect, and good customer service. Today we tried so hard to find someone to answer a question about a door. The first employee we talked to said, “you’ll have to talk to the guy who just told me that I don’t know how to do my job” (that’s not an appropriate thing to say to a customer) and the second employee started off our conversation by saying that he was in a bad mood and, “will abuse anyone who comes within arm’s length” (that’s DEFINITELY not an appropriate thing to say to a customer). And then he kept walking away as we were asking him questions. Then we wanted to talk to someone about a vanity countertop because the few products on display were not labeled and didn’t have any info. We were told there wasn’t anyone who could answer questions about vanities. Ok, so now what?

Went to buy 4 pieces of sewer pipe. They have it in stock, but refuse to sell it to me because it is allocated" to other people. Worst store in the CRD for being out of stock

I really like sleggs, they have a lot of product other stores don't have. The staff are very helpful. I don't understand why I can't find out how much materials are without waiting in line at a cashier, which is a huge waste of time for a contractor - The lumber yard has no prices anywhere. That is why it isn't five stars - love sleggs.

Service was ok, the store was fairly well organized and clean. The yard was very confusing for first time users. We had an F350 and was told to drive into the yard to pick up the supplies we need: cement, flashing, rebar. Place was tight for a large truck and we were yelled at for blocking a loader. Signage was limited. Was tough to find staff to help out in the yard. Finally found a couple of young lads to help figure out the rebar cutter which they had issues figuring out too. The place had everything we needed to build our raised stone patio. Bonus that they carry Hilti power tools as we're in the market for a drill as well.

I rarely post reviews for anything but the service was so exceptional today when I visited the store in Sidney. Kind , helpful employees that didn’t make me rushed and went out of their way to help me find everything I needed. When leaving the yard the gentleman checking my purchase was respectful, thoughtful and again kind. It really made my day. I will definitely be going back there. Thank you fir making g my shopping experience positive during such uncertain times.

2 1/2 months ago I made a $3500 order in Comox which was delivered quickly minus a few bits. Unfortunately Sleggs Sidney still hasn't figured out how to do store transfers. They succeeded on sending some pieces that they had shorted me on along with a whole case of parts that I don't need. Now we are down to 10 small pieces that I am missing. It is very frustrating for my great contractor salesman in Comox trying to wake up the shipper in Sidney to fill this order. We're hoping Sidney can figure how to do a transfer before the 3rd month is gone. I have fond memories of Sleggs back when the Slegg family owned it. The new boys are incompetent!
