THE BRIE SANDWICH!!!! OH MY GOD!!! THE CARROT CAKE!!! OH MY GOD!!!I've had so many sandwiches & cakes in my life. these are easily top 3 for each category. much better quality than a grocery store. don't even think of going to loblaws if you can go here! i have never had a sandwich or cake with these flavours. i can tell a really good chef is in charge! I wish the sandwich had a better bag for takeout, maybe assumed I was staying there to eat? however, not a huge issue, I think it's 5 stars overall, and I am very picky! I am screaming right now eating these treasures. never been here before but am surely coming back. friendly atmosphere too. I think it is a really good place to hang out. from a penny pincher like myself, I deem the cost to be well worth it! enjoy the food & feel the vibe.

Uff. Just saw this joint is open until midnight. Now extremely jealous of Ottawans (sp?). Great place to get a drink and watch this engaging area of Ottawa. There is inside and outdoor seating. The staff is friendly, but ordering an ice tea was a bit awkward. That may be a cultural thing as I think Canadians may like tea much more often hot than the U.S. Anyway, I hope people get a chance to try this place-it seems a nice family ran place.

Very delicious food! Quality over quantity? You can have both things in Byward Cafe! Their cakes are quality AND quantity. It is also very pretty with gorgeous mural and windows to look at outside. The staff is very kind!

Fantastic sandwiches, great friendly service, and awesome location! They don't skimp on the ingredients. You order a brie sandwich, you get a solid amount of brie on the sandwich. There is enough meat and toppings, and the mustard is fantastic. The service is great, and everyone is super kind helpful and friendly. Once you get your delicious sandwich, you can enjoy it in their cute indoor or outdoor seating area. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Went to this cafe with my brat friend when we were downtown and realized that we both had a sweet tooth at the same time. This place is so cozy and the desserts are to die for. Everything is made on site and you can tell by the taste. And what is nice is that smile you receive when you walk up to the counter. The staff was really pleasant and I would go back in a heart beat. I had the cheesecake....it lasted about 20 seconds on my plate lol

I had- Tiramisu cake- Chai teaFor $ 11.8Not really something specific. I think there are better options close by. I don't think it worths the price. And the cake was not that tasty.I don't think I'll try them again.

I had such a delightful experience at this cafe! The owners were incredibly kind and cheerful. When I inquired about chocolate croissants, which were not on the menu, they went out of their way to freshly prepare them just for me. Not only did their warm-heartedness make my day, but the croissants, paninis, and coffees were absolutely delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend this cafe without hesitation.

Excellent food and great coffee! The location is ideal and the place is great to enjoy a nice break in the Byward Market. The staff will make you feel very welcomed, everyone is smiling and in a great mood! Our experience there was simply amazing and we'll definitely stop by the Cafe again next time we're in town!
