Emergency wait times are brutal, this is the only hospital I’ve been to that’s like this.

Thank you to the drs and nurses for saving our mom. We are so lucky to have a hospital near by. I do hope one day this wonderful hospital could be fully staffed and operate like they can. In the meantime, thank you for doing the very best for our family.

When I showed up at around 10:30 AM on a Friday morning I only waited maybe 45 minutes in the waiting room. When I was seen not only did they address my concerns, but also checked in with me about other concerns I had since I don’t have an assigned doctor at the time. I was treated very well by staff and really appreciated the time and attention they gave me, as well as the respect they showed me.

Terrible experience. Waited 5 hours to see a doctor about a severely soar throat, was told I was fine and that Tylenol would help and that I should have no trouble while working. You’re better off going anywhere else.

My father has been admitted to the hospital after a heart attack. He spent hours in the ER waiting and was finally admitted. When he made it to the 7th floor, he was told that he could shower in a bit. Turns out, there is no functioning shower on the 7th floor, or the 6th floor. We had to ask a nurse to show him to the shower on the 5th floor so he could shower, only to find out that they have no warm or hot water! And they share a bathroom with the room next to them. So dad was sharing a bathroom with an elderly woman. My father shared a room with a man who was also having heart problems. He sat for 3 days in the emergency room before they finally gave him a room. While in the waiting area at the ER there was an elderly man there who kept calling out for a nurse. They walked right past him and ignored his requests for aid. I was at a point where I was going to go in and ask if he was okay. We've had to specifically ask for the results of bloodwork and make determinations on his conditions based on our own knowledge. Otherwise, they just sit there and play candy crush for hours. The only reason this place does not get a total of 1 star is because of the nurses on one of the shifts. They were excellent. Michael checked on dad all the time and several times throughout a shift.

I just had my second Epidural at the pain clinic with Dr. Maruthi Ganugapenta. The staff at the clinic and Carbonear General hospital are the absolute best! Thank you doctor! Hats off to Bobbie and nurses: Tracy and Jennifer. I received the best care.

Have been brought in by ambulance multiple times to this ER just to be sent home with the same medical issue unresolved.5th time here in the past two weeks brought in by ambulance just to make me wait in the waiting room for 6+ hours while severely ill. Impossible to get good health care in this province. I suggest not coming here for medical treatment whatsoever.

Was parked awaiting for my family member who just had day surgery, I parked and was waiting in my vehicle before being called up. After about 5 minutes I was confronted by a security guard who said “ this is for doctors parking only so move “ I said “Ok sorry I don’t see a sign I was just waiting for someone inside “ he said “ Ok that’s fine I can give you a ticket then “. This approach was super disrespectful and rude. I was polite and friendly and he took a hostile approach that was completely unnecessary. I’m sorry I didn’t get his name. I then said “ why are you so upset we were just having a conversation “ he said “ well are you going to move? “ I said “ of course you asked me to “ and he stomped away. Anyway, beware while parking… after moving I still didn’t see the sign which ended up behind covered by a giant truck. I should add the “doctors parking” had 15 spots open and available. Not that it matters, it wasn’t for me … but his approach was rude and very aggressive which could have been solved with a much kinder approach, mistakes happen. I ended up backing up 5 feet to an open parking spot directly behind me which was an appropriate area.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous that they took away the option to sit in your car and be called via phone while you are waiting in emerg. When all the chairs in the waiting room are taken and I have to stand there for hours while ill and I'm not even given the option to go sit in my car. This hospital needs to get it's s#!t together

My father was in the emergency department for 2 nights. He is a senior with multiple health issues. He recently was separated from his partner as she has been sent to St Johns for palliative care. He is Distressed and confused they would give me no information as to how he is or where he went. I am his daughter and live in Ontario. They say because I am not listed as next of kin (his parter is she is in palliative care) they can’t give me any information. He has nowhere to go and nobody to look after him. I am beyond frustrated very concerned for his safety. I asked that the social worker call me today so we could figure out where to send him. They couldn’t be bothered I guess. I left my number with the emergency department no call. This is unacceptable i hope he is safe. This hospital needs to update policies since when is a child not considered kin.
