A friend took me to McRae's for the first time and I was a little disappointed with the food I received. Granted, the restaurant was quaint. To start, my friend and I shared the hummus that was in the 'share plates' section and it was delicious. The naan bread/pita tasted super good with the hummus and the carrots was crispy and fresh. We weren't super hungry so we got a grilled cheese and the mac and cheese off of the happy hour menu. Can't go wrong with the grilled cheese, nice and crispy. The mac and cheese on the other hand, it was really disappointing. The cheese sauce they used made the whole thing super unappetizing, also the cold cheese and breadcrumbs on top just made it worse. Also it was lukewarm, it did not taste fresh at all. The service was alright, there was a lack of eye contact super mediocre.

Went there on a nice sunny day and the patio was pretty good. Lots of traffic noise from Shelbourne but not much they can do about that. Good atmosphere overall. I had the chicken burger which was great and the fries were good as well. Cesar Sunday was good as well they were nice and spicy. Overall it was a good time and I will be back

I love the atmosphere and service (waitress was great). However, food wise we only liked the Korean cauliflower per the suggestion from the waitress. My green salad was missing tomatoes and had almost no pumpkin seeds and cranberries. Felt very cheap. My friend power bowl had no sauce, and so little quinoa. Again not impressed and we were disappointed. Sangria were good. I’m willing to come back but I might stick to burgers.

Found this place via a Google recommendation. Love the cozy atmosphere and speedy service. I had the Salmon burger and it tasted so fresh and cozy. The bun and sauces added to this very satisfying flavour that I haven't tasted in a burger before. Furthermore, the onion rings were incredibly crunchy. Great meal. I'd personally recommend.

Food was great! Waitstaff could be a little more professional, and dressed. There seem to be no dress code at all for the staff, they just wore whatever and some were a bit offensive especially since there are children dining here. Also it's a bar/lounge atmosphere with kids running around. Seemed a bit odd but maybe I'm just behind the times..

Came in a huge group of roughly 16? Lots of good food but disappointed lots of items on menu are sold out and some appetizers look fairly basic. The large tower drinks were very watered down with way too much ice. I was in very good company who snatched up the bill before I could've paid (had to chase down the person to give cash!).Probably will come back only if with friends. I don't think this restaurant can cater large groups because it was not packed when they're out of food and I came at 20:30 which is early for running out of some main entrée items. Servers were amazing and their service makes up for the slight deficits.

I was at the restaurant a few days ago and sat outside on there front patio. It's not an ideal spot to sit when it's cold out since they only have one working heater for the entire space. As for food, it was tasty. I had a breakfast sandwich and fries. The fries were crispy and delicious! The service was decent enough but it was hard to hear our server. She spoke really quietly and didn't look super happy to be there, but we got everything we asked for which is good. I'd probably go back but I'd be more careful about where I sit.

Food was great 10/10Atmosphere was cool but very loud 7/10Service was “need to work on it” 4/10Waitress was kinda rude, she was like pushing us to leave by coming to check while we’re talking and taking longer to eat our food, and then she asked us if we’re ready for the bill !Once we are I guess we can call you and ask you ourselves to get us the bill !No one is running away before paying your tips !

Good veggie burger, great kids mac n cheese, tasty pulled pork sandwich. Nice service. It looks nice for having drinks with friends
