Kona Stained Glass Ltd

As this is the only glass store in my vicinity I consider my resources limited, but I do generally feel spoiled for choice at Kona.The general atmosphere usually makes me feel like a teenage thief until it's clear to the staff that I know my way around, don't like a lot of fuss, and I'm set to spend a few hundred dollars... My visits are few, but heavy.I hope this glass business sticks around though I heard that they're moving over to the Metrotown area. Might be easier to get to from the North Shore... We'll see!I always look forward to my visits here. Glass is a lot of fun to peruse and purchase. As a jeweller it's akin to hunting for gems. Each shiny, containing inclusions and various interesting colours in their own ways. :)

I recently completed the Introduction to Stained Glass course with Brett. It was amazing!! I knew absolutely nothing about creating stained glass work before coming to this course - 2 months later I'm planning my first out-of-class piece and I know I've found something I'll be doing for a very long time to come! Brett was an incredible instructor, very encouraging and down-to-earth. We each got a lot of one-on-one time with him, and his stories from his time abroad made for very entertaining classes. If you've been looking for something creative and new to try - I would 100% recommend this course.

First it’s Knight St store a few minutes from me, says it’s CLOSED, thinking Covid killed another one. As I learned from other stained glass businesses it actually MOVED !According to Google maps the new location in Coquitlam has (no in-store shopping) but doesn’t advertise curb side pickup.So I call them and reluctantly they give me an email address.Then I get this (Below) after sending them a picture of a sample, they didn’t have it and they also didn’t recommend a possible substitution. When I asked about a substitution, I received this reply.“Kona doen't offer the type of service you are requesting, helping a customer select glass”They sell STAINED GLASS ! , supplies plus I believe teach classes. But they do NOT offer customer service…Really ?

This place is great, just wish they would open up for in store shopping again.

I'm relatively new to stained glass and I've now done two curbside orders with KONA in the past month. I was a bit dismayed to see some of the negative reviews given that they're the only local shop in Greater Vancouver. However, my experiences have been nothing short of fantastic. While of course, I would love to be able to select glass in person, I'm sure that day will come. For now, their website is meeting my needs and I've got everything I need to continue my projects. I will be shopping there again, for sure!

Very helpful ordering materials online for the first time. Ordering worked out great. Still miss store when it was at 33rd. and Kinght St.

No in-store shopping is a deal breaker for buying glass. What a shame - this store used to be a gem and creation spaces and classes.

As a stained glass artist living in Vancouver it’s super disappointing that Kona glass is the only option for stained glass supplies in this area. The “store” itself is run out of an industrial complex located out in Coquitlam and not easily accessible. There’s no in store shopping which is a huge issue considering seeing and picking your own glass is an important part of the process. If I’m dropping $30+ on one sheet of glass I want to see what I’m getting beforehand. It’s actually cheaper for me to ship all my supplies from a store in Nova Scotia than it is to support Kona.Update: I adjusted my review to 3 stars because I know it was a bit harsh and thank you for replying!

Recently purchased stained glass products from the great people at Kona. Excellent selection and service. Even with online shopping being sometimes impersonal I received follow up emails and phone calls to assure me of their attention to my business request. Very impressed. Great job Robert!

Awesome selection of stained and other glass. Service was great from the gentleman that helped me. And the price was less than I expected, even for a custom cut beautifully stained sheet of glass.
