Oriole Nursery School

We became part of the ONS community over 10 years ago. I loved being part of my children's initial education experience and I loved being able to watch them develop new skills and firneds. ONS helped me become a better parent, and I personally made friendships there that continue today. It's a great school for the whole family!

Oriole Nursery School provided a tremendously safe, nurturing and educational experience for all three of my children. The teachers and administrators are extraordinarily dedicated to the safety and positive development of all children and we could not be happier with the impact the school had on our kids. I would give the highest recommendation to Oriole Nursery School and think that any family would be lucky to enroll their kids at the school!

My children really thrived here.We originally had our older child in a different daycare, which was fine, but the schedule didn't really work for her, and then we found Oriole. Our daughter went here first, and she really did amazingly well here. She started developing friendships really quickly, acclimatized really fast and really got a lot out of it. They had more of a focus on learning and enrichment than our previous daycare, and it really showed in her development. Our daughter seemed more engaged, and was ready for Junior Kindergarten when she started. She often talked about how much she missed Oriole. My son started right as our daughter left, and he thrived there as well. The teachers were really engaged with him, and while he had a natural inclination to language, we could see that he was developing really well there, and enjoying it.In terms of the coop aspect - Oriole is a coop daycare, which means you can volunteer occasionally and get a lower fee in exchange. We really liked this aspect of things, as our kids got more of a sense of community out of it, and we had more opportunities to meet and get to know the other parents.I can't recommend this place enough, or say enough good things about the staff. Heather, the manager, is amazing, attentive and caring, and we never once had an issue of any kind. This is truly one of the best daycares in the city.

Having our two children attend Oriole Nursery School is still one of the best decisions we've made as parents. ONS provided the nurturing and stimulating experience any parent could hope for. Between the music and French classes, tactile play stations, daily art projects and circle time, our kids felt happy and secure.  This was especially important for our first born who was quiet, shy and nervous to be away from us for the first time.  But all of the teachers and staff were so patient and experienced.  We also loved the co-op nature of the school.  By volunteering for an occasional assigned task, it allowed us to get to know the community of students and parents and see first-hand what our kids experience in the class each day. Now that my kids are in Grade 4 and 6, we've had several years of elementary years in good schools under our belt, and Oriole still stands out.
