This place has a lot of potential, I don’t believe the disgrace has anything to do with the staff, staff are supposed to have proper management to have a successful place and business, this place doesn’t seem to care about anything besides getting paid and not being shut down.
I come here often to see my mom and go for dinner; the servers are very nice, some of the nicest, but they are put on shifts where they are made to do all the work. I don’t see how that’s humane to make one girl do 3 person job..
I went to smitty's a weeks ago. The woman was serving multiple tables, running out the food, cleaning the tables, seating guests, doing take out, cleaning bathrooms and the building, while trying to keep customers happy.
Then customers complain about slow service or waiting at the front door for so long, it’s because they NEED a host to greet customers at the front door and seat them, a host should be doing take out orders, and cleaning while the server is the one who should be taking orders, running out food and wiping down tables. It’s unfair to put that much stress, stop being cheap and give your servers some weight off the shoulders.Another problem I have with smithy's Rycroft is that my mother is 74 years old, and it is hard for her to walk up their stairs. There’s accessible parking, but nothing to help people in wheelchairs or walking canes.
Smittys needs to build a ramp for handicap and old people.
Rycroft is full of retired old folks and has nothing to help them.
Spotless building besides the men’s washroom, my dad said there was poop on the toilet seats.

The seating area is clean, they have decent booths.I ordered their clubhouse and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was below average but she was alone and was super friendly.My beef barley soup was ok, tasted like it came in a can.Overall for a tiny town restaurant, it exceeded my expectations.

I don't really expect.much from smitty's. Haven't been one in years, the menu has condensed greatly, too much in my opinion. The prices are reasonable. Smitty's in general gets 4 stars just as is. Not getting or being offered tartar sauce, vinegar, or anything for my fish and or gravy for my chips though loses this location a star.

First 5 star review is the owner so that speaks volumes. We come here because there is only 2 restaurant choices in Rycroft. This gross cold food is only still in business because there is only 1 other option for food. Small portions at five star prices and the waitress doesnt speak enough english to understand what an allergy is causing someone to get sick when a piece of meat was found in the cream of mushroom soup

We went to Dunvegan park and decided to check out this place on the way back in Rycroft, front desk lady was so welcoming, we enjoyed their food a lot especially bean burger, it was so nice and crispy which I have not found in any restaurant till date. Overall it was a fun meal, and we enjoyed trying everything. Our server (kamal) was a big part of making the meal enjoyable, as she was incredibly helpful to us.Aside from the food, they also have a good selection of wines and beers to trySmitty's is an amazing addition to the neighborhood, great servers, and a comfy intimate surrounding!We will be back again

If you like to waste time and spend 5 hours at a table perfect place for you to go otherwise it would be faster to drive to grande prairie sit down eat and drive home then to eat here waited at the table for 1.5 hours for a waitress to come out from the kitchen area and she didn't come out till we went to the till to pay and had to ring the bell multiple times for service so didn't even bother getting a to go container.

Good food. Decent prices. Waitress was professional and friendly. Bathrooms were clean. I got one pancake, chunky hashbrowns, 2 eggs,2 bacon. My buddy ordered 2 eggs and sausages and toast and fine hashbrowns. They were about the same price but his was more filling.

This restaurant doesn’t even deserve one star. The food was cold, undercooked and horrible. I usually enjoy smittys but you can tell they take no pride in their food at this location. Everything was terrible. It tasted like the food was microwaved. When complaining the waitress said they’d take 10% off, even though we barely touched anything on our plate. I said no this is unacceptable and I wanted to talk to the manager. The manager would not even come out to discuss the issues and only took one dish off the order. This is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting service. I will no longer go to any smittys location if they’re going to let anyone cook, or should I say microwave the food. I will be talking to head office
