Walmart Photo Centre

I can’t say enough good things about Walmart Shawnessy Photo Centre and their incredible team. From the moment I stepped into their studio, I was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. The staff were all amazing especially the Manager Carissa and the Photographers (Liza and the other guy I forgot the name) They are awesome! Do not try to get passport photos here. Although a clear miscommunication between the website and the reader, it is not $9.97. In fact, it is triple that price. After talking to not only the staff of the photo, but also Walmart management, they were able to do absolutely nothing for me. The worst part about it is that it is clear that their camera is over ten years old, and that printing the picture would maybe cost 20 cents at maximum, yet they insist that their thirty dollar charge is standard. Go to Costco, where you can pay a fifth of the cost. The cost of Shoppers doing this makes it look like these guys are ripping people off.

I had my passport photo taken and the quality was worse than what you can take with an old iPhone 4S. Lighting is terrible and creates too much brightness on the face, and for the ~20$ price, I expected at least a professional photo. It was urgent so I didn't have any other option but to use it.The service takes a long time (compared to Costco or other photo studios) because the photo centre staff/photographer seemed a bit confused on what she was supposed to do. Go to Passport Photo 6.99 in Evergreen or Digital Post in Shawnessy instead.

DO NOT GO HEREAttempted to take my 15 month old for passport photos. It took at least 10 minutes for the staff to even acknowledge my presence (only one other customer in the store). After waiting at least 30 minutes for the staff to finish with the other customer (not sure what they were doing as the photos had already been taken) I left. The staff seemed highly inefficient, poor customer service and services are overpriced. I could tell the other person was also annoyed and had probably been there for a long time as her children also seemed to be at the end of their attention span and their tone indicated frustration. I overheard the staff say it would be $35 + tax for a passport photo to the other customer. I went to Shoppers Drug Mart in Shawnessy. I was helped right away, cost $20 and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Most of the wait time was for the photo to print (reasonable). A simple it’s going to take us x minutes if you want to go shop and come back. Plus a sign that shows pricing would go a long way.

Was told I would get a free photo book as part of Christmas holiday gifts. I spent some time arranging and designing the photo book, sent for print, waited 10 days, got an email that it's ready for collection. Went in store and staff told me it's not available yet and come back after a day. Went again after few days, staff told me the order was not available and was not delivered to their store. What a waste of time! Pathetic customer service. Do not recommend Walmart photo centre at all.

They do not take passport photos but point you to the portrait studio that charges you $32. Walmart prices on their website are $12.97. After paying I convinced management to give me the difference on a gift card.

Good service. The photographer was really chill and nice.

I had a positive experience at Photos Unlimited Shawnessy. I highly recommend Carissa. She takes creative, beautiful photos that will make you smile. She is very easy to work with. Thanks, Carissa, for such memorable photos of our little son!
