Barton Lettuce

Whenever in the area, I prefer to shop for my fresh fruits and vegetables at the family owned Barton Lettuce. The best value for money and locally sourced produce. It's also more than just that....spices, honey, dairy, artizen bread, take home meal options and fabulous Christmas baskets for everyone on my list. And they support the local community.

Its been a year since my last review as someone who lives 2 minutes away: still selling old and wilted produce including 3$ herbs. Seems to rely heavily on the shelf stable products and most fresh food has been pushed to the back of the store where the temp is warm including the refrigeration units. Operating hours are inconvenient for most working people during the week so product won't move quickly. If you honestly think the produce is good here, you might as well shop at Big Bee.

I was excited to hear this was opening in the Barton Village. It is a much needed walking spot for many living in and around Barton. I appreciate the normal prices for produce, and it just being regular produce, no organic or magic produce, just plain old normal products. You should shop here first if you can.I do think they would be well served by improving their selection, and including a few non-perishable, non-produce items. Things like coffee, and bagged tea that don't go bad, to keep overhead lower, and waste to a minimum. Some items like re-usable produce bags would be great too since again, they never go bad, and with new interest in going green and reducing waste, constantly using plastic produce bags is best avoided. We still use them for some produce, because it keeps longer, but still having them for other items would be beneficial.I am excited to see what this store has in it's future, and I'm sure it will expand its offerings. I respect and appreciate that the business is trying to fill a need in what is a walking and cycling food desert, and avoiding selling what other long standing businesses already do. I think including offerings from other local businesses do, like so many others already do would be a great way to grow with other local businesses.I look forward to shopping here in future.

Excellent source for fresh produce in Barton Village! We live nearby and go here for a good chunk of our groceries - super convenient! Produce always tastes fresh and delicious, much better quality than what is usually available at the Food Basics down the road.

Absolutely delightful fresh grocer. Fruits and veggies sourced locally - fantastic quality! SO MUCH BETTER than big stores. Also some delicious breads and health food products... you gotta try the Honey Soda! ❤️.

Love love it ,nice owned by family right in neighborhood,plant my garden every year from there,so so convenient just a little walk away,bits of everything' so glad it joined the neighbourhood

Clean, well stocked and always fresh. Nice variety. Micro greens are cheaper than many places and of better quality. Friendly staff. So happy to be able to support local instead of another chain. You won’t regret checking them out.

We needed a pineapple, tripped on this place after lunch across the street....a must try gem of a place for a super selection of fresh fruits & vegetables...also local jellies, jams, spreads, various spices, coffee beans (or ground) & Stash teas...very friendly staff as well...

This place was amazing and I’ll go again. The veggies last forever, money well spent. ❤️
