This place is an absolute gem!! Love coming here with friends at night, the atmosphere is nice. Food, service, and quality are all great!! The cocktails here are all super enjoyable along with the amazing food. Personal favourites have to be the Calico and the Lychee Grapefruit!

Haven't been here for a while, mainly because we always find parking here to be challenging.Everything we had that day was good. All 3 of us enjoyed it. Staffs was friendly and very efficient! I recommend ankimo, black cod, chicken liver, p-toro(?), yakisoba! The special clam chowder croquettes was sooooo good too! Ohhh and mochi ice cream!The only thing was the deluxe chirashi don, doesn't feel that fresh to me. For that price, I expected a little bit better than that. Still enjoy the overal experience tho, hence the 5 stars.There were some rowdy drunk customers there that night, we don't really mind even though some of the conversations seems inappropriate. The staff tried to cut them off for drinks and they were pretty rude toward the staff, the staff hold themselves really well though. I was impressed!

Expensive skewers but worth the money. The quality of the meat is excellent! The way they grill it keeps it very juicy, leaving a nice crust and grill taste. I recommend trying the chicken heart, beef miso, and any of the beef style skewers. What an excellent experience. The menu options are excellent. Great variety of Japanese small dishes, and sake.

Great izakaya to enjoy a casual but nice meal. The Zakkushi skewer set is well rounded and a good item to start with. There's a good selection of sake here and the current sake tasting flight special is a nice way to get started for that too!

Excellent food & cozy ambience. Must have their skewers! All of them are delicious. Love their mochi skewers, ebi mayo, and mochi age dish. House sake was good too for $15.

Zakkushi is highly recommended by a local friend. We really likeliked the place and service is good. The food is really tasty. The skewer is a type of food/cooking that quite a few ethnic cuisine offers. when a restaurant or chief treat them with respect, you can tell. Zakkushi did a good job.

This izakaya is an institution in Mount Pleasant. The drink choices are vast (but just pick the house saki as it’s priced well and pretty good…yes, even cold), the must order item for me was the pork toro (belly)…it even deserved a second order! The stars of the menu are the skewers in general and the flavour from being seared over Japanese binchotan is evident. Atmosphere inside is lively and feels like you’re transported into an old mountainside drinking tavern in Asia with lots of natural wood (even the washroom walls were made to look like a cave!). Always a good time, meal, and service here…just a bit on the pricier side now.

We order a bunch of stuff, meat is flavorful and cooked to perfection! Maybe a smidge too salty but no complaints! Portions are small for the price but hey they r rlyyy goooood! The seat we sat at even has the call server/bill button which I loveeee!

Great place to sit down, grab some skewers and drink sake. They’re always busy so try to make a reso or show up early. Everything on the menu is oishii and the servers are friendly and nice. They do heavily enforce your dining time limit. If they tell you you have to vacate the table by X hour, they mean it.
