Called St Joseph’s for an urgent chest X-ray. Receptionist rudely told me earliest appointments were for middle of next month.I informed her it was urgent, as per dr, and for a child.Receptionist disinterested- scornfully asks if it’s for immigration.Maybe don’t hire xenophobic people at a hospital? Apparently my accent outweighs the fact that a child urgently needed a chest X-ray.

Waiting in emergency since 1030 am told will have to stay put or you can possible lose your place if called and you are topping up your parking meter. left at 4 pm still not seen by doctor. board changed to a 4 hour wait at 3 pm..... got a parking fine for 50 dollars plus I filled it up the meter twice while I was waiting, this is a golden cow for the city and a catch 22 for the hospital patient waiting in emergency

Great Staff! I attended my prenatal appointments for my now 9 month old little girl, the ladies were amazing! as well as all the other staff in other departments! keep up the great work!!Also wait times would be better if some people booked appointments at an after hours instead of bombarding the hospitals.end of rant

I always go to st Joe's hospital emergency department they are really polite. Helpful understanding . With the system we have right know I will always go to st Joe's.. never to the regional.. I usually am in and out In 3 to 6 hours .. I understand with the amount of Dr's they have . Which is not there problem at all it's the government doing .... I know when people go sick to an ER they expect fast service that's before all the cut backs since the government took the money away ...

I came in for an appointed scan. I'm not from the area and appreciated help from security answering my questions. The staff was accommodating given I'm hard of hearing. The process was fairly quick. Thanks for your help.

First time here. Had a seamless experience at emerg. In and out in less than 2hrs. Can’t ask for more than that. Maybe it was beginners luck, but I’ll take it. The staff were all friendly and professional. Fine experience.

If I could give a lower score, I would. The doctor I saw was fine. Very pushy with wanting to send me to surgery, for something that truly doesn't need surgery. My issue is with the urgent care, more so the nurse who I saw.I visited this place in October because I was feeling ill. I also have very bad anxiety, which was working overtime when I was there. When I was called to visit the triage nurse, my husband came with me.We were immediately told he could not come with me. He explained that my anxiety was bad. The nurse disregarded him and told him to go sit back down. She then proceeded to tell me, once we were behind the curtain, that my husband would have to wait outside. Yes, outside, in the cold. There were hardly any people in the urgent care. She claimed it was because they were very busy. Ha!I thought it was because he is a big black man. There was no issue with a white teenage girl having her father and sister there. There was no issue with an older man having his wife there. The only issue was my black husband. While I waited, and he was forced outside, a lovely security guard, whom he had been talking to outside, came and checked in on me. She stayed with me until I was called to see the doctor.I found out later, by my husband, that a family of 5 came in and that the father (or man of the group) was allowed to stay.He was sporting a very visible knife on his hip. No issues there. Gee, I wonder why. They were white. They had no issues. But me, a high-anxiety white female, and my black husband were forced to be separated. To top it off, that same nurse was very rude with me when she was taking my vitals and asking me what was wrong.Never. Again.

Came in with a bad flu, doctor gave me an antibiotic (found out several days later that they have zero effect on the flu). I have a lot of stomach issues and the pills wreaked havoc on my GI tract. Also found out the pills contained an ingredient that I am allergic to. This is extreme negligence on the doctor's part as it was written on my bracelet.I have never felt so sick in all my life, the pills essentially poisoned me on top of an already terrible case of the flu. Absolutely abysmal care.

Dr. Dorey is rude. She refused to give me my antibiotic prescription for a “viral” infection (pain in my ear, jaw, back of the head) until I talked to mobile mental health (I cried for being upset because I didn’t think that would work; the antibiotics didn’t work and the NP on eVisit was confused why she gave me that diagnosis in the first place). I also went there two days ago with my friend for abortion services and they said they could not do anything for her because they are a clinic (despite being in the emergency room triage) and then they gave her a post-it note with a number for a place in Moncton. Then she went to the Regional hospital and when they asked why she was there after just being at St. Joseph’s, they told her that should not have happened and gave her the patient advocate phone number.
