Revera Poseidon Long Term Care Home

If you can avoid this care home do so. I am so disgusted with the care that was given to my mother. and the lack of respect they had for the family.There were some staff that were very good at there job, but others should not be in this kind of work. It takes a certain type of person to do this work...compassion is a quality that is needed. This can not just be a job"my advise would be to avoid any of the Revera Homes ...these people are underhanded and could care a less about your loved one

The staff are amazing at Poseidon. They were warm, friendly, and tentative and made my Mom feel special.We know the facility was older and she had to share a room, but the staff made up for this shortcoming.She was in there during Covid and the FaceTime visits were always on time. We did move our mom to a place with her own room but would totally recommend Poseidon

I go to many different care homes due to the nature of my work. I love the staff here and the residents love it too. It is an older building and there can be a lot of maintenance issues. However it is the people who make the care phenomenal. From the Executive director to the housekeeping the people here make the residents feel happy, welcome and cared for. I hear it constantly from the residents themselves I am spoiled here" or "they treat me like gold". I would trust putting a family member in this home."

I would not trust this facility with my family member my dad was in this horrible place and I will never forgive myself for agreeing to having him here .... Revera who is under class action lawsuits because of neglectI will never forget the day when the nurse on my dads floor spilled my dads liquid medication on the floor and then attempted to scoop it up from the floor in liquid form and try to administrate it to him without me looking it was a good thing that I was there to catch this nurse In the act after I was alerted to thisAfter my dad passed away in 2016 they then put an immediate family member who was already in Poseidon and put the family member in the same room and same bed where my dad passed away .. this is horrible for my mom who visits this family member and brings back such horrible and upsetting memories to step back in that same room and same bed where my dad passed away ... room 317-1

Well run facility. Older home but the staff is exceptional and the care is top notch.

The staff are attentive, skilled and kind. Our family appreciates the dedication the staff demonstrate. Thank you!

This nursing home has the worst patient care I have ever seen. Do not send your family members here unless you want them to be neglected.

I was dismayed to see the negative comments posted about this facility and am sorry for the families concerned.I, for one have nothing but good things to say about this particular Poseidon residence.After visiting and researching several other options, our family immediately felt the welcoming atmosphere of the spacious, sunny main floor with its piano and birdsong from several caged colourful birds and huge TV and computer and library shelves and ongoing fresh supply of coffee and tea.However more important is the wonderful staff. My Mom has been here for over one year and through our many visits and experiences we have observed that she is as happy as can be considering she had to leave her beloved home.Yes, there were some adjustments and teething pains but it did not take long for her(and us) to realize she is well looked after, safe and can partake in as many activities as she likes. She is treated with respect and patience and the staff is always quick to respond to any concerns we have.The meals are varied and plentiful and tasty with many snacks and there are varied activities and a lovely outside sitting area.The spring tea and the Christmas parties in particular are impressive and fun and every effort is made to include everyone. My mom had the option to move elsewhere but chose to make this her permanent home.We are all grateful that our Mom is in good hands.

My father had to be placed due to diemntia. It was difficult for him at first, but he soon felt at home.My mother visited twice a week and I flew home once a year. Staff were always so caring and respectful to my dad. We have sat in the lounge during meal times and witnessed the care of all the residents. No matter who was feeling upset, aggressive, or needing more support that day, the staff were calm and caring. I have heard many families talk about wanting fancy decor. This is an older building,but is clean and well kept. The bottom line was the Day care of my father and we couldn't of asked for anything better. The floor staff and administration were very supportive and caring to us in his final days, giving us all meals and anything we needed. I would want my mother and myself to be cared for here.
