I knocked over my much loved antique clock. John did his best to repair the damage but when it wasn’t possible he fitted a quartz movement so I can enjoy my clock again. He didn’t charge for the work he did trying to repair it only for fitting the new movement and kept me updated at every stage in the process. Clearly very knowledgeable and does a great job for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend him.

So pleased! Ancient and abused New Haven has been brought back to life. John is honest and realistic about what to expect (my clock was not a fine antique but cheap and mass produced victorian drop clock), but alongside his exceptional knowledge of all things horological he completed a sympathetic restoration of case, face and movement. The end result was beyond expectations and I hope the clock is good for another 120 years!

John recently serviced and repaired our 230-year-old longcase clock; it had been out of use for several months and had not been serviced or cleaned for about 30 years. When we delivered the movement to his workshop he detailed the work required and gave us a timescale and a fair estimate for the job, as well as showing us around the workshop.When the work was completed he promptly returned the movement and reinstalled it in the case. When a minor problem arose soon after, he called back without delay and resolved it.
