Nice serene place to study, read and enjoy the literary world.Has the usual free seminars and courses too. I found it a bit simpler and at a smaller scale than its elder sister in Toronto that is Toronto public library.Prepaid service for colour and black white paper printing is also available which I find very useful and better than using Staples or UPS. 3 D printing also available.Staff is cordial. Ambience is quiet and clean.Sometimes in a few branches of Toronto Public library one used to experience too much of noise. Not here. It's far better in that respect.Fiction department is huge. That doesn't have any lacunas.I wish and hope that they increase reference book section. For the moment non fiction/reference section is way too limited to term as worthy of being library. It also needs to be more inclusive by adding more Urdu , Hindi and Chinese books. That I saw expertly done at Toronto public library but not so much here.Overall in line with demographics, usual demands of patrons, this library looks to be doing ok.

Another publicly owned facility named after conceited politicians. Sickening.

This library is always extremely noisy. Its small with barely any study space and people are conversing loudly with no consideration for others trying to use the space to actually get work done. The staff is not helpful at all. If you ask them to remind people to lower their voices they say they can’t do anything. I think they should change the name to a community centre instead of a library because this definitely does not mirror a library atmosphere.

Cozy" would be one word to describe this library. It feels like a nice place to relax and read. It's constructed out of wood

I popped into the Northview branch today to do some printing and return a couple books. I'm a Lib.Tech so I try to support and use the local library as much as possible. With today being the first day of school closures and having my own preteen children, I wasn't surprised to see kids seeking shelter at the library. After a while of my sitting there, one of the library staff approached a group of preteen girls who were using an outlet to charge their phones while sitting the lounge area and kicked them out. They had not been loud or disruptive and there were minimal other patrons, I was seated at a computer less than 8ft away.Unfortunately when I left, I saw that group of 6 preteen girls hanging out in a parking lot across the street talking to some older men.**It's not the library's responsibility for unattended children**, even teenagers, but the library should be a third space for when children have their school/ safe haven taken away. They should have access to the library during school hours, it's the safest space for them.A good library would have a more humane approach and a great library would not be removing young girls from the property. IF they have acted inappropriately this could be an entirely different review.Northview library won't be a growing organism if the patrons of tomorrow don't feel comfortable using your resources, that include the wall outlets; to some access to an outlet is more important than access to a book.

I love going to this library with my children, we visit atleast once per week. I've utilized their 1000 books before kindergarten" for my youngest

Friendly staff and a clean library. Sanitizer is easily accessible. Not too big but the location is good so it's not too far from our home. They have self checkout machines and drop off bins that are easily accessible. The only downside is the handicap door open button in the men's washroom does not work and hopefully it is fixed for those who may need it.
