Terrible, TERRIBLE service, especially by the manager, Roxanne.People trust this company/store to make a memorable gift for a special occasion, but it was clear that Roxanne did not care about her work or special gifts for people.She botched a special pen I had ordered for my anniversary & was so terrible in trying to help me fix it in time for my anniversary. I ordered the pen about one week before my anniversary, but she messed up on the pen, didn't tell me about it, then promised to fix it, didn't, then promised to fix it again, then didn't again. Finally, when I called the morning of my anniversary to ask for it, another employee was nice, and helpful enough, to help me fix it asap for 11:30 am when I called at 10:00 am (they open at 9:30 am). This ruined my idea of giving my anniversary gift on the morning of, mind you. But at least I finally had it for later in the day...However, although this other employee was great in trying her best to solve my problem after the manager left her in the dark without the pen to fix (no one knows where she put it), just the form that I had filled out, on the manager's day off no less, the pen was a disappointment because it was not the sleek, all-metal, click pen that I had ordered. Instead, they ended up picking another pen that was half plastic grey, and was a turn-pen. I okayed it over the phone because at that point, I just wanted a decent pen as a gift after finding out that they didn't have any more of my pen in stock.Things Remembered in Sudbury is lucky they're the only store that has good hours who does engraving, because trust me, I quickly did a search for my next custom engraving. There is CopyCopy, but they only work with paper. Then there is CanSign downtown, but then only have Mon-Fri 9-5:30 pm hours (vs. 9:30 am to 9 pm here), and then there are Jewelry stores also mostly with 9-5 hours.So since Things Remembered in the New Sudbury Centre has a monopoly in engraving custom orders, my advice in using them is: try to order AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AT LEAST ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE if possible. Ask for asap/next day service even if you don't need it for a week because of their mistakes. And then go try to pick it up asap and follow up with them everyday if need be to make sure it's done properly.If you want to know the basic details of what happened, here it is:I ordered it on a Wed night to be picked up the next day or Friday. Finally got a chance to pick it up on the Sunday with my 2 young kids in tow (3 years & under), while my spouse was working. When I see the pen, the last line is crooked and trailing off. It looks horrible. The manager/girl who did it tells me, “I couldn’t fit 3 lines on there.” Well then, you should’ve told me this right away so we could’ve resolved it right away! She also engraved a lower case “l” that was clearly a capital “L” on my form (we all saw it and agreed about this). She tells me she has to redo the pen, but can’t do it today. Tells me she’ll have it ready next day during the day (Monday). I say, “Ok.” What else can I do even though this is a big hassle with two young kids to tow around…I go in Monday night at around 6 pm, still not ready. She “didn’t have time to do it”, and then promised she would have it ready by the end of the night (9 pm) and would text me when it was ready. 9 pm passes, no text. This is the night before my anniversary. There goes giving my gift in the morning.I call at 10 am next day, another employee scrambles to fix it for me as described above. Her name was Shauna (not sure of spelling). I would give her 5 stars for service despite the pen not being what I wanted. Roxanne would get a 0 or minus something. Her service sucked.If you mess something up, own up to it & try to fix it right away so that it doesn’t snowball! And some things are time-sensitive, like my gift! And if you promise to fix something, THEN PRIORITIZE AS SUCH & DO IT! Don’t string your customer along & continue to other projects! You messed up, YOU FIX IT ASAP! And please proofread engravings for important gifts!
